Our cottage offers a carefree relaxed holiday atmosphere at Mission Beach. The cottage is bright and airy and is designed for the tropics with high ceilings, fans, louvre windows and an extended patio. There are 2 aircondsitioned bedrooms and a 2 way bathroom, well appointed kitchen and an open plan living room opening on to the large patio for the evening BBQ and drinks. It is approximately 1Km from a shopping centre and restaurants and a short walk to the Dunk island Water Taxi.
The Cottage is set in native gardens and bushland with a range of habitats.
Great value. Loved all the little extras like beach chairs, magazines, washing powder etc. Small things like that really make a difference. Loved how it was built using raw materials - simple but effective! Excellent for our family of 4. When I booked it I thought that the whole spiel about walking through the short bush track to the beach , spotting cassowaries etc. was just for promotion, but was very pleasantly surprised to find it was all true. See the occasional cassowary, the exquisite sunbird, pied imperial pidgeons, the rare beachstone curlew and various sandpipers, waders, kites, sea eagles and many other bird species.
