We welcome overseas and local visitors, and offer them a chance to experience a taste of country life on our 15 acre property. Good old-fashioned hospitality is alway on the menu. The property has a panoramic outlook - to the north the mountains of the Great Dividing Range, to the west the waters of Lake King and to the east the Tambo River and Wetlands
The north facing cottage verandah is a perfect spot for a sunny breakfast where you can enjoy our complimentary free range tasty eggs, or an evening barbeque watching the sunset over the lake. The variety of birds that regularly visit the cottage bird feeder will keep you entertained at most times of the day.
Hill View Cottage, is lovely bright, sunny and airy self -contained studio style accommodation, set in the garden area overlooking roses and flowering cherry trees. Linen, blankets and doona are supplied for the queen size bed. There is also a single sofa couch, for a child or extra person. In the kitchen, dining and living areas you will find most of the comforts of home, including heating and air conditioning. Towels are supplied, but please bring your own beach towels.
Complimentary vegetables in season from our chemical free vegie garden and genuine free range eggs from our happy chooks are available should you like to sample them.
Dogs are most welcome, but please enquire about our house rules if you wish to bring your friend along on holiday. Will, our friendly and legendary English springer spaniel is always pleased to see new friends. His greeting is enthusiastic, and he is usually willing to have a play. We have a new addition to the family, Scarlett a young female springer and friend for Will.

We are ideally located to easily explore East Gippsland’s many unique areas, the waterways of theGippsland Lakes are virtually at our doorstep, charter vessels are available to hire. The snowfields at Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain are reached via the Great Alpine Road. The world renowned Buchan Caves should not be missed, see the kangaroos grazing. The Snowy River region and dramatic Cape Conran can easily be explored on a day trip. National parks are numerous in the region and are waiting to be explored. At Paynesville enjoy a meal at one of the many bistros and cafes on the waterfront, then catch the car ferry to Raymond Island and see koalas in their natural habitat. Return home detouring via Eagle point to the Mitchell River Silt Jetties, the second longest in the world. At Lakes Entrance buy prawns, scallops, fish, freshly caught from Bass Strait at the co-op or direct off the trawlers, then take a stroll across to the Ninety Mile beach and watch the waves roll in while enjoying the fishermans harvest. Go north from Lakes Entrance and visit Wyanga Park winery,then cut across to the Tambo Estate,Sarsfield Estate & Nicholson River wineries,all offer tastings. A 9 hole golf course is only 5 minutes away from The Cottage. Fishing is popular, boat ramps are numerous, or fish from the banks of the beautiful Tambo, Mitchell or Nicholson rivers. Excellent restaurants, cafes, bistros are located throughout the area or why not try the food trail. Many areas are dog friendly, and what could be more pleasurable than seeing your K9 friend having a romp on a sunny beach, or fetching a stick from the water
