'Historic Scots Hut' is more than just holiday accomodation it is 'a home-away-from-home' for you, your family, friends (up to 6 persons).

The house is absolutely charming, magical and welcoming. Built in 1872 the house features: blackheart sassafras lined walls, polished handsawn blackbutt floors, leadlight windows, stained glass, original artworks, wrap around verandah on all 4 sides of the house, a quaint red roof topped with a brick chimney stack.

All the comforts of home are to be found at scots hut including a widescreen tv, video, dvd, all austar channels (includes sports, movie network and plenty of programs for the kids), washing machine, dryer, iron & board.

The house has ducted reverse cycle airconditioning to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. Also for ambiance there is an open fireplace and a combustion heater (wood supplied).

At Scots Hut we have provided a home that the whole family can enjoy. For babies and toddlers we provide a wooden cot with new mattress, change table, highchair, baby bath, toys and some baby products plus a swing on the verandah for up to 3 year olds. For small children there is a sandpit and plenty of space to run around, animals, wildlife and loads of fresh air.

The garden is perfect for those who wish to just 'unwind in a most relaxing and peaceful environment.' Enjoy plenty of space in the houseyard and play a game of cricket or boules or take it easy and rest in the hammocks or doze away on the day bed on the verandah.

The surrounding gardens are lovely; including fruit trees, native and european decidious trees, flowers and herbs. Guests frequently pick the seasonal fruits to enjoy whilst staying at the property; rasberries and plums (dec-jan), apples, pears (feb-march), chestnuts etc. Free farm fresh eggs, herbs and seasonal vegetables are supplied when available.

The property is an ideal retreat for those who love nature. We have farm animals (cows, sheep & chooks), and there are frequent native visitors including kangaroos, wombats and birds.

The nearby village of Wyndham has: tennis courts, skate board park, children's playground, sporting grounds, pub with restaurant, general store (cafe, internet, petrol, post, some groceries) and a firestation.

Avoid the crowds and noise of the busy 'tourist spots' and choose to stay at 'Scots Hut'. Enjoy the tranquility and peace of the house, gardens and surrounding bush and wildlife. Enjoy the fabulous scenery whilst trail riding, now located at Oaklands, Pambula.

Scots Hut is ideally located, so that you can take a short drive in any direction to take advantage of the great attractions of the area. The property is only a 20 minute drive to Pambula and 25 minute drive to Merimbula. Scots Hut is surrounded by national parks and state forests. Bega (north), Eden (south), Merimbula (east), Bombala and Snowy Mountains (west).

We consider your pets to be part of your family and we welcome your pets ! We provide two dog runs for your dog's safe keeping and a fenced house yard. Plus well behaved dogs are permitted in the house (with supervision).

This is truly an all seasons destination. SUMMER relaxed moments on the verandahs enjoying the scenery, or taking a car trip to local tourist destinations including the beach, or picking some fruit, enjoy the freshness. AUTUMN changing colours of the trees — maroon, red, orange, yellow and watch the leaves fall, gather chestnuts and hazelnuts. WINTER open fires, cook yourself a roast dinner with a glass of red wine and enjoy a movie, book or a brisk walk in any of the nearby national parks or state forests or take a day trip to the Snowy Mountains. SPRING watch the vibrant fresh new growth in the garden as this season brings life to the decidious trees!
