Linger Longer Vineyard is the western wing of the homestead of a 10 acre vineyard overlooked by the Willunga Ranges. It is completely self-contained with its own entrances, patio and garden. It comprises: Queen sized bedroom; spacious lounge and pristine kitchen. The two way ensuite has twin showers. The reverse cycle air-conditioning ensures your comfort in all seasons and you can keep extra cozy in the winter with a log fire in the lounge. Continental and cooked breakfast provisions are provided and a complimentary bottle of McLaren Vale wine. Where possible produce is home grown or regional. As the sole guests, privacy and tranquility are assured.

Locality

McLaren Vale is synonymous with wine. The area has over 50 cellar doors, many of them family concerns with the winemaker hosting the cellar door. The first colonial expedition in SA terminated in Willunga which, over the years has been known for its slate, almonds, and now, olives and grapes. Many historic buildings, including the courthouse have survived and, on Saturday mornings the Farmers Market offers the best regional produce. The old township of Aldinga was settled in the mid 1800s and boasts one of the glorious sandy beaches which stretch along the coastline of the region. Add all this to beautiful scenery, fantastic food, art galleries, walk, cycle and riding tracks, quaint shops. What more could anyone ask for?

Property

Linger Longer Vineyard offers bright, spacious and comfortable accommodation within easy access of the many attractions the region has to offer. Curl up by the open wood fire in winter. Enjoy a glass of wine on the patio watching the sun set over the vineyard. Eat out at one of the many excellent retaurants or stay 'at home' and cook your own meal,either in the kitchen or on the barbecue. Privacy is assured but,if you have some queries or would like some local company the hosts are within easy reach. Stay around March and experience the excitement of harvesting. June offers the famous Sea to Vines Festival, July is busy with pruning, October is Gourmet Month. The next Day on the Green concert is 10th October. There is always something to do as well, of course as simply relaxing.

Unimpeded wheelchair access from car parking to the property, Access available for large vehicle to load/unload accessibility equipment..

We have had guests who are partly dependent on wheelchairs stay here comfortably. Although we don't meet Australian standards for complete wheelchair access the property is flat and the apartment spacious and uncluttered which lends itself to easy movement.

Beach

Less than 5 minutes drive to the beach, Relax by the pool after the beach.

We are 7 kms by road to Port Willunga and Aldinga beaches and a little more to Silver Sands - all glorious beaches popular for swimming and fishing. Our property is centrally placed between the winery region and the beaches as well as only 45 mins. drive to Adelaide.

Eco-friendly

Recycling facilities available.

Almost completely solar powered. We use water tanks for our vegetable garden and most of our waste goes in recyle bins, the compost bin or our ever increasing worm farm. Our home grown vegetables and fruit are spray free and eggs are from the family's free range chickens. We use regional products whenever possible and our commercial grape crop is grown on organic principles. We are extending the use of dry growing plants in the gardens.

We welcome all guests regardless of race, religion or sexual preference and have hosted many gay and lesbian guests. The guest accommodation, although attached to the main house is completely self contained with its own entrances and patio/garden. As there is only one guest accommodation a private and peaceful environment is assured.

We are a working vineyard. The wine we give our guests is made from the vineyards that the accommodation looks out on. There are over 70 wineries in the McLaren Vale district, two just minutes from us. One of these as well as others offers winery tours. We have lived here for over 30 years so have a comprehensive understanding of the wine industry in this region and are happy to advise guests about which cellar doors will best meet their needs, as well as sharing some of the latest wine gossip.
