Close to a magnificent 18-hole golf course, the Retreat is just 30 minutes drive to the numerous wineries and restaurants of the Hunter Valley. Not far in the opposite direction, you can take a cruise, swim or fish beautiful Lake Macquarie. Right on our doorstep we have the magnificent Watagan Mountains with some of the best walking tracks Australia-wide. Hike, ride or peacefully wander one of these magnificent trails.

Locally, there is a myriad of arts and craft stores including the renowned “Elephant shop”. The area boasts a number of talented artists offering an array of unique products. Another option is Morisset Mega Markets (open Sat & Sun) – shop till you drop! While the local stables will take riders on gorgeous rainforest trails suited to either beginner or experienced rider.

At the retreat, refresh yourself with a swim and then laze in the sun; grab a book and head for the hammock; or spoil yourself with a massage (professional masseuse on call). In the evening sit on the verandah enjoying a bottle of champagne while taking in the awesome nightsky display. The Martinsville valley is a scenic rural wonderland. Take a picnic and bicycle along winding country tracks skirted by the magnificent mountains taking in the fresh mountain air.
