Self contained Accommodation in apartment, a semi self contained Queen room in the Homestead and self contained, reverse cycle air conditioned van.

Liptelvin Hillside Retreat is a gorgeous property 18 kms from Mansfield near Goughs Bay, that has Delatite River frontage and spectacular views of Mt Buller. Wildlife abounds.

The brick homestead surrounded by gardens, is built into the top of a hill, in a very quiet, private location with 2 guest BBQ areas. It is only 2 kms from a general store and boat launching facilities at Lake Eildon.

The luxurious self contained apartment has everything to make life relaxing and comfortable. The main bedroom has a QS bed and the other bedroom has either a European King size bed plus single bed with trundle or 3 large single beds and a trundle.

Downstairs in the living area, there is a wood fire as well as in floor heating, an overhead fan and air conditioning, a comfortable leather lounge suite, a small library, TV, video and DVD player, a large fridge, microwave, fully equipped kitchen and a ¾ sized pool table. Cot, high chair and baby bath. Hairdryer, toiletries, towels and linen are supplied.

In the homestead there is a comfortable Queen Room with TV, bar fridge, microwave, jug, toaster and private facilities, which can be extra accommodation for the apartment guests, or separately for 1-2 guests and a pet.A hairdryer/soap/and all linen supplied.

Adjoining the homestead, is a self contained caravan with reverse cycle air conditioning, microwave, stove with oven and 4 hotplates, island bed, shower/toilet. All crockery, cutlery, linen, soap, detergent supplied.

There are feather doonas and electric blankets on all beds.

On arrival, guests are welcomed with hot or cold drinks and homemade biscuits.

Apart from the friendly hosts, other " people friendly" residents at Liptelvin Hillside Retreat, include a dog, a cat, a donkey, 4 horses including a miniature horse and 8 hens.

Activities

Great property for either chilling out or planning lots of activities. Hosts can arrange massages, horse riding, catered 4 wheel drive trips into the High Country,and help plan day trips, picnics or fishing. Helicopter scenic trips with pick up on our property can be arranged.

On our property, guest enjoy swimming in the Delatite River, and relaxing under shady trees on the riverbank. Some guests boast about even catching Redfin and trout.
Utopia for animal lovers here... BYO or meet friendly dogs, cat, horses, donkey, hens, and lots of wild birds who visit daily. Wildlife abounds. Interactive zoo (with lions!) nearby.
For skiers or adults dining in Mansfield ,there is free pet and child minding available by arrangement.

Property

The Mansfield area is a holiday destination for "all seasons and all reasons". There are always interesting festivals and activities.

Many talented artists and entertainers have made this beautiful area their home and are actively involved in community activities.

The mountains offer snow sports, sightseeing and snow play in winter and in summer, 4WD, bushwalking, painting, photography, helicopter excursions,music and art events, horse riding, motor bike riding, mountain biking, etc etc.

Then the rivers and lakes are wonderful for picnics, swimming, boating, fishing, or just sitting on a deck chair, reading a book.

Often there are balls, theatre productions and fantastic concerts which visitors are welcome to attend.

The Mansfield area boasts a variety of excellent restaurants, wineries and even a boutique brewery.

The Mansfield Zoo is worth a visit, as it is interactive and visitors can hand feed many friendly native and exotic animals.Visit at feeding time when the zoo keeper feeds the lions and explains and tells anecdotes about the other animals along the way.

All these things are readily accessed from Liptelvin Hillside Retreat. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

Having been a teacher, I enjoy interacting with children of all ages. I also babysit them free of charge if parents want to go out for dinner. I love building their confidence with animals, as we groom the horses and donkey together and take them for walks on lead ropes. They can hold one of the hens, help collect the eggs, feed the tame magpies, play with Ben, our dog, and do drawing with me (I was also an art teacher). We have a number of Theme Gardens which some of our young guests have helped to create and leave their mark. They are so proud of their efforts. Older children enjoy the large pool table and playing on the organ. My husband is group leader for Scouts, and we both have Working with Children Cards.

Pet friendly

I love animals and people, and BOTH groups are treated as VIP guests. On arrival, human guests are provided with hot or cold drinks and home made short breads, and dogs are welcomed with a treat and a freshly filled water bowl. If they are used to living inside and are toilet trained, they can live inside with their owners. If owners want to go out for dinner or to a national park, I look after them free of chage. We have hosted a variety of pets including dogs, cats and even guinea pigs!Our dog Ben, loves having his own canine guests, and having had over 60 doggie guests of all breeds, sizes and personalities, he has befriended them all, and been nicknamed "Uncle Ben" by a number of human guests.

Waterfront

Guests enjoy swimming, lying in the rapids and fishing in the Delatite River on the property. Dogs love swimming with our dog Ben. Boat launching for Lake Eildon is only 2 kms away.
