Enjoy the abundant bird and wildlife from your fully self contained two bedroom log-cabin on 12 acres. Kangaroos, wombats, king parrots, cockatoos, rosellas, they all live on your doorstep!

The kids can help you to collect the free range eggs in the morning for your home cooked breakfast. Or they can help us feeding the chooks or Jasper, our mini-horse, Charlie the alpaca, or our sheep.

In every season there are many beautiful days north of the divide, perfect for a picnic, bushwalking, horseback ride or a 4WD-tour in one of the surrounding National Parks. Water or snow skiing, it is all here. Other adventure activities include, camel treks, white water rafting, hot air ballooning and fishing. In Mansfield or surrounds there is always something on.
Dining out is only a short 10 minute drive away. Alternatively, enjoy preparing a hearty home cooked dinner and just relax by the cosy fire. In summer, you can also enjoy an alfresco barbeque dinner from your veranda.

The house was cosy and warm with comfortable beds and lots of hot water. It was a great place to stay with children with lots of land surrounding it with kangaroos in the morning. It is a great affordable option and Martina was a very pleasant lady to deal with. Sarah - August 2008

Locality

Mansfield is a township situated 200 KM North East of Melbourne, Australia, in the middle of the High Country. A comfortable 2- 2.5 hour drive will lead you to your ideal hideaway for a weekend or a longer period of stay.The Mansfield region, including the National Parks offers many attractions and activities throughout the year.
Skiing and Cross Country Skiing are the most favourite activities during winter.Mt Buller is only 30 minutes away and provides snow pleasure for the whole family. Tobogganning, tube sliding and sightseeing are activities that can be enjoyed by those who prefer a less adventurous approach to the white stuff.In summer many activities are organised, like the Harvest Festival, several wine festivals throughout the region, local Bush markets, rodeo, camp draft and the Mansfield show are just a few to mention. Especially during the long weekends there are always organised events.If you like to enjoy nature, why not book a horse ride through the high country, where the magnificent views and experience of the pristine Victorian Alps will take your breath away.An organised 4WD tour through the mountains to Craigs Hut, famous from the Movie "Man from Snowy River" provides a great alternative to horseback.

Fly fishing, wild water rafting and downhill mountain biking are a few of the other sports activities that can be experienced in the great outdoors. Mansfield has an 18 hole golf course, tennis complex and swimming pool.

If you have come to just relax and unwind, you do not need to go far. Our wide veranda will give you that ultimate feeling of space and tranquility while you soak up the magnificent views. The only noise you hear is a flock of Cockatoos enjoying their flight together before the night falls. Kangaroos come out of the forest behind the property and graze peacefully around your veranda. A short stroll over our land will lead you to beautiful forests, where the sounds of the Australian bush is sometimes deafening.

The property features a wood heater, which, even on a cold winter day, manages to heat the whole house.It also has a split heating/cooling system.
The house is situated on a hill, which allows the breeze to cool the house quickly after a hot day. Additional ceiling fan and standing fans are available as well.
The outside barbeque has a wok burner and the kitchen is well equipped with a 4 burner gastop, stove, grill, microwave and large frisge with 40 liter freezer compartment.
