Holiday house

If you are looking for relaxation right by the riverside on the Murray River in Western Australia, then this is THE place for you. This brand new home is 45 minutes from Perth City and ten minutes from the ocean and Mandurah. Sleeps up to 14 people in four large bedrooms (and 2 sofa couches) 2 bathrooms, kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and two large fridges, one with ice-maker. Then there's the huge open plan living area with huge bay windows overlooking the river. Bird life abounds and the fishing is great. Very tranquil surroundings. There's a pool table, Table Tennis, Totem Tennis, Boche, BBQ, full air-con throughout and heating in the living area. Digital TV's include DVD players, Wi-fi Internet and stereo. Lock-up parking for four cars and more room for 2 trailers. Our home is ideally suited to quiet riverside relaxation. Parties may not be appreciated. Please note that the neighbors to the west are Govt. Shift Workers and their bedroom is very close to the outdoor alfresco area. Most importantly, there is no fence between the back door and the river so Non Swimmers must be supervised at all times outdoors.

Everybody loves the peaceful surroundings..... the birds and the river. In just ten minutes we saw fourteen different varieties of birds and I know there are many more species to see. There is so much wildlife and the huge lawn area sloping to the waters edge is the place to relax and watch the world go by.

Locality

This riverside property is located ten minutes from the shopping centres, commercial centres and all service industries located around Mandurah City. The nearest shop (only open Friday through Sunday) is 800m, next to the Hotel, or Pinjarra, about five minutes drive. If you are bringing your own boat, the nearest public boat ramp is 500m down river however canoes, kayaks and small dinghies can be launched at your private jetty at the bottom of the lawn. 45 minutes to the city of Perth, 1&1/2 hours to Margaret River wine region. Golf course five minutes, wildlife parks, museums and historic sites all around. Beaches 15 minutes drive. Mandurah is a holiday city, with facilities for all.

Property

This special home is brand new and located right on the banks of the Murray River. It has beautifully polished Tasmanian Oak board floors and all modern conveniences. Wheelchair access to all areas is possible with help.

I was in a wheelchair for the first three months that we owned the home and found it easy enough to get inside and to get around the living areas. With care, all rooms are accessible by wheelchair however the master bedroom would be recommended. There is a 75mm lip from the driveway up to the front porch. Access can be obtained to ensuite in master bedroom however the shower has a 200mm lip. There is room for a shower chair. (We have plastic garden chairs that may be suitable) Kitchen is wheelchair friendly. Access to the back lawn is restricted by a 100mm lip and the lawn can be soft. There is a steep slope as you get closer to the river so care should be taken when going too close. Private jetty is not accessible by wheelchair.

There is a pool table and of course the river right outside. Another reminder that thered is no fence between the back door and the river so people who cannot swim must be supervised when outside.

Pet friendly

Small dogs (less than 11 kg) are permitted, Medium dogs (11 kg to less than 34 kg) are permitted, Large dogs (34 kg or heavier) are permitted, Pets are permitted outside only.

Sorry, no cats due to the many ducks and waterfowl / wildlife in the area.
Dogs are welcome providing they are kept outside at all times. The floors are polished 19mm Tasmanian Oak and may be scratched if pets come inside.
There are no fences between the back door and the river, no secure area for dogs outside. However, there are two double lock - up garages, both enabling access to the rear of the property without running the pets through the home. A pet bond may be requested.
