The African Cottage is situated between Maleny and Montville, close to the many restaurants, shops and galleries of the area. It has two large bedrooms upstairs, both with queen-size beds and a single divan as well in one bedroom. It also has a fabulous bath overlooking the 500 year old figtree on the property.

Downstairs is a smaller room with a double bed, and there is a pull out couchn in the lounge area. The cottage has a very large country kitchen and a spacious lounge/dining area. Plenty of privacy and space!

Relax outside under the wisteria or in front of the log fire. Have a picnic under the fig tree. Fall asleep with the chorus of tree frogs. Go for walks, have a massage, browse the many beautiful shops in the area. Ideal for a romantic weekend away for two, a family or a few couples sharing. Or for a girls weekend away! Relax and experience African hospitality! Start the day with "boerewors" (a tasty sausage), eggs and Sashaba (tangy curry tomato sauce) which we can provide. Order a traditional South African dinner to enjoy by candlelight in the comfort of your cottage. The place to truly unwind!

Locality

The African Cottage is about 60 mins. drive from Brisbane or Noosa, 5 kms from Maleny, and 10 kms from Montville. Very central, with a cheese factory, art gallery and quilting gallery across the road. Maleny is a place of beauty, and it takes a few days to discover all the wonderful things this little village has to offer. Award-winning restaurants, art galleries, sailing on Lake Baroon, rainforests, spectacular views, quaint little shops, friendly people, picnic areas, parks and waterfalls - you find it all in Maleny. Experience the feeling!

Property

Our property is very special, with an enormous 500 year old fig tree as a backdrop. Lavender bushes line the area around the cottage and herbs are everywhere to be seen and enjoyed. Have a relaxing BBQ outside in our Lapa, or relax in front of the log fire inside. Have a picnic under one of the huge trees. Plenty of lawns for kids to play on. Even the pooch is welcome! No fence though, so bring a leash. Furnishings are tastefully African, with a lot of attention given to detail. Sleeps 9 comfortably.

Pets are very welcome at The African Cottage - as long as they don't jump on the furniture! The area is not fenced, however, there are large verandas all round the cottage where pets can be leashed with plenty of room to move and lots of shade. Also, large lawn areas to run around. Pets are allowed inside the cottage, on their own bedding. Pets also get a pet treat on arrival - a sort of welcome gift!

Breakfast provisions can be ordered from us at a minimal cost. We are very flexible, and all depends on the circumstances and the guests and their needs.
