The 'Rondawel' is a little bit of Africa in Australia! It is self-contained with a beautiful large glass and timber living area, two hexagonal bedrooms and a fantastic bath overlooking the fragrant gardens. Relax by the log fire in winter, or enjoy cool breezes in summer.

Have a "braai" (BBQ) on the deck with the branches of the 500 year old fig tree touching. It feels like living in amongst the trees! Enjoy a hearty breakfast of 'boerewors'(tasty sausage), eggs and Sashaba (tangy tomato sauce) which we can provide, or order a traditional South African dinner by candlelight.

Have a relaxing aromatherapy massage in the comfort of the cottage, followed by a luxurious bath. Listen to African music, whilst sipping your favourite drop. Enjoy a meal in one of the many excellent restaurants, browse the art galleries, or go for a rainforest walk. Only a short drive to beautiful beaches. Or just chill out under the fig tree. Property

The Rondawel is part of our African experience of four beautifully decorated cottages. Attention to detail, and a very unusual building makes The Rondawel the ideal retreat for a family or two couples. The deck is very special - enjoy drinks at sunset or breakfast in the morning. Listen to African music or the song of birds. Marvel at the 500 year old figtree, and take a stroll in the garden to pick some herbs, or mandarins, lemons & limes from the trees. A unique experience!

We love having kids! There are big lawns to run around, and some pretty big trees to try and climb! We also have a hammock under the one tree, and I believe there are fairies under the 500 year old figtree! Maleny has a few lovely play areas, as well as of course Australia Zoo close by. Kids love it here!

Pet friendly

Cats are permitted, Small dogs (less than 11 kg) are permitted, Medium dogs (11 kg to less than 34 kg) are permitted, Pets are permitted inside, Food and water bowls provided.

The property is not fenced, but both cottages have a secure area where pets can be safely left. Pets are allowed inside - as long as they don't jump on the furniture! Cats are obviously allowed to jump on the furniture - try & stop them! At The Rondawel there is a safe deck where your pet will spend most of his/her day. Pets will also get a pet treat on arrival - a sort of welcome gift!

Winter Holiday

Log fire.

Winter at The Rondawel means sitting in front of the log fire with a glass of your favourite drop in your hand. Very cosy and very relaxing! Order a traditional South African meal to be brought to your cottage - and you don't have to brave the cold! And when the mists come over the mountain, there is not a better place to be! Cosy in your lovely cottage!
