With over 120 peaceful acres, the one bedroom timber cottage is a great place to get away from it all and take in the atmosphere.

Relax, explore, discover the rainforest, be delighted by the array of birds, take in the sounds of nature, rest at the waterfalls, or just sit back and relax. Maleny and Woodford are both about half an hour away.

The modern timber cottage has all the facilities you will need for self-catering. It has a fully equipped kitchen, wide verandahs, big windows, a wood heater and is furnished, including a queen-size bed with a single bed in a separate room. Linen is supplied.
Tracks on the farm will take you through the paddocks, to the spring-fed creek, rainforest, waterfalls, national park boundary and to views into the Mary Valley. Nearby are the recreational tracks (Mountain Bike, 4WD etc) on the Bellthorpe State Forest.

4WD Tours

Bellthorpe Cottage is set in the midst of the Bellthorpe State Forest which is well known as a 4WD recreational area. Guests can use their own 4WD to tour the area without needing a special permit for most roads. Tours can go to Jimna, Kilcoy, Kenilworth, Conondale, Woodford, Stoney Creek reserve, Charlie Morelands camping ground, Sunday Creek Rd and other places in the district. Recommended for dry weather only!

Bellthorpe Cottage is set in its own paradise. With virtually no neighbours, you can enjoy the surroundings and peace and quiet. There is only the one cottage on the 120 acres.

Bellthorpe Cottage has got to be one of the best places in SE Qld for bird watching. There are at least 5 different types of habitat: wetland; rainforest; wet schlerophyl; open paddock; riparian; as well as birds that are attacted by man made activities.
As there is only the one cottage, you can enjoy bird watching with virtually no interuptions.
There is 120 acres on the property and it is surrounded by bushland, including a National Park. Basic information on birds are supplied and more detailed information can be given. Your hosts have a good knowledge of local birds.
Birds Queensland have visited the area and described it as one of their most successful outings!

Bellthorpe Cottage is a brilliant place to stay for any one who enjoys bush walking and the great out doors. The property has its own walking tracks - through open paddocks; along creeks; through rainforest; to the waterfalls. Along the way, there are plenty of birds to observe and a things to see. And for the more adventurous and experienced, a rugged National Park is right next door.
With 120 acres on the property, you will be sure to enjoy the surroundings and exploring all that the property has to offer.

Our local cook dishes up some of the best country style cooking around with generous helpings. The menu will be sent to you when you inquire and, provided we get advance notice, dinner and/or breakfast will be delivered to the cottage door for your indulgence.

Bellthorpe Cottage is set in wonderful surroundings with a great diversity of wildlife, particularly birds. About half the property is native vegetation with cattle on the remainder, managed with environmental issues in mind. Recent tree plantings are increasing the area on the property that has native vegetation, as well as providing wildlife shelter and corridors.
Walking tracks lead to a beautiful set of waterfalls in among the rainforest.
The property itself is 120 acres and is surrounded by bushland, including a National Park, in a pristine part of SE Queensland.

Farmland Experiences

Bellthorpe Cottage is on a small operting cattle property in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The property was a dairy farm until some 20 years ago, but still has the productive pastures of that era. Cattle have access to about half of the place, the balance is rainforest and the spring fed creek - which has largely been fenced off.
Some of the cattle and the horse can be tempted with morsels of food and be hand feed.

Bellthorpe Cottage is set high in the mountains in the Sunshine coast Hinterland. Winter is a brilliant time of the year, typically with warm days, cool nights and clear star filled skies at night. Generous, wide verandas give plenty of space to rest and relax.
The waterfalls face north and surrounding tall timbers provide protection on windy days - giving an idilic setting.
The log fire provides warmth through the cottage providing a great atmosphere to spend time sipping on your favourite beverage.
