"If you go to Longreach you must see the Stockmans Hall of fame and the Qantas Founders Museum This is a must see in conjunction to the history of the town. The Old Time Cottage is a museum in its own right. Also go to the Power House. But MUST STAY at Old Time Cottage."

"This place is just special. We had a wonderful few days, met and had a beer with Don on the front verandah of this wonderfully restored cottage.
The only thing that went wrong was our alarm clock (mine) didn't go off and we had to rush off to catch the Spirit of the Outback and had to leave some dirty dishes in the sink. Sorry Wilma. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. Ken. QLD "

"Relaxing, charming, comfortable. For a reasonable rate, we were able to dispense with the usual motels & cabins. Added bonuses were the pleasant garden, front verandah, a washing machine and line all to ourselves, bacon & eggs in the fridge, and even a piano. It all helped to make our stay in Longreach a real pleasure. "

Our son loved asking questions about all the old time items in the house and he loved playing the piano. It was all a bit tempting of our 1yr old daughter who just wanted to touch everything - so it kept us on our toes keeping everything out of her reach."

"The character of the cottage and the large back garden with the sprinkler was much appreciated in 47 degrees heat! The only problem was that the airconditioners struggled a bit with the extremely hot conditions. However when they all suddenly stopped after a few days of constant use, the owner arranged to have the electrician visit witnin 10 minutes of our call! So excellent service! Overall a very unique and memorable property ( in a good way!) It brought back memories of my husbands grandparents' homes."

"Old Time Cottage has etched a special place in our heart. It was a truly authentic journey into the past with lots of well preserved items from yesteryear. The beds are very comfortable, the cottage spotless & air- conditioning a bonus. We were amazed to find delicious bacon & eggs in the fridge together with bread & milk. The owners go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. We enjoyed breakfast in the lovely back garden and a quiet drink at sunset on the verandah. "Old" often conjures up pictures of musty smells and cobwebs - not so with Old Time Cottage. There was loads of info on what to do and see in the area, and all in all it was a beautiful place to relax after a busy day out sightseeing. Everyone should do this at least once!"

Arrived quite late and was welcomed with a phone call on the old dial up telephone and a fresh packet of lemon biscuits.

With the stage coach passing by the house most days we'd venture outside and wave to the folks going by. With the enjoyment of tea/coffe and biscuits on arrival, the bonus of breakfast goodies including eggs & bacon was a wonderful addition...

Unfortunately we couldn't make use of the garden, which looked very inviting- would have done if the weather had been kinder. The little extras provided by our hosts, eg: bacon, eggs, milk, bread, cereal,tea and coffee were very much appreciated and made us feel very welcome. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting something more than motel type accommodation. Certainly value for money."

"We did not know what to really expect when we arrived at the cottage, but we were pleasantly suprised. It is the best holiday I have had in years. The cottage was spotlessly clean with not even a cob web in sight.
