You can fill your days easily without even leaving our property: there's a swimming pool, spa, tennis court, billiard room and children's playground. Or just stroll through the gardens and listen to the birds.
You're welcome to use our great bush kitchen too - a great place to get together with your family, or to meet new friends. The bush kitchen has barbecues and a wood heater and is fully equipped for all-weather dining - and fun! (And three other barbecue areas on the property.
If you feel like venturing further a field, you don't have to go far! Tambo Lodge is on the edge of the Colquhoun Forest, where tall stands of ancient eucalypts provide a habitat for native animals and birds. Forest drives, walks and picnics are among the great pleasures of holidaying here.
And then there's the beauty of the Gippsland Lakes: a natural wonderland of lakes and rivers just a few minutes drive away. For fishing, boating, swimming, or simply standing at the water's edge and dreaming.
Close by Tambo Lodge you'll find Buchan Caves, wineries, art and craft galleries, national parks, golf and lawn bowls, restaurants and shops, and the magnificent Ninety Mile Beach. And when you return to Tambo Lodge at the end of the day, there's a warm welcome, the prospect of a game of billiards, a drink with friends around the barbecue, and a wonderful night's sleep.
Our cottages have a 4 Star Rating and our Apartments 3.5 stars.

Our property is on the edge of the Colquhoun State Forest which has many roads and trails suitable for 4WD. Also their are 4WD tours run locally.

Accessible


Suitable only for persons with limited mobility but not wheelchair users, Step or lip exists to the entry door, Step or lip exists to the shower, Chairs are permitted in the shower, Some stairs, described below.

Tambo Lodge is not designed for wheelchair access but are acceptable for people with limited mobility,however our apartments have some suitability features in that there are no steps to access them except for a small lip at the front door, however the rooms themselves have standard fitting sand some have a step up into shower areas.Door width is standard throughout.Parking is directly next to the apartments.Beds are all standard.Our cottages do have a couple of steps at most to access them.Our 2 Bedroom Cottage does have hand bars in the shower to assist those with limited mobility.
It is probably best to ring us and talk about your specific needs and we can match the accommodation to your needs.

Beach


Less than 5 minutes drive to the beach, Relax by the pool after the beach.

We are 5 minutes drive into the township of Lakes Entrance which has lake and surf beach access.

Birdwatching


Bird-watching available on-site, Bird-watching available nearby.

We have a large variety of birds that visit Tambo Lodge.Some examples are King Parrots,Lorikeets,Rosellas,White and Black Cockatoos etc
We are opposite the Colquhoun State Forrest which is home to species such as the Lyrebird and Emus.

We are on the edge of the Colquhoun State Forest which has many bushwalking trails such as the Lakes and Wilderness trail and the Gippsland Rail Trail.

The Gippsland Lakes are great for canoeing and kayaking. We are a 5 minute drive to the nearest Lake access.

We also have a free video collection with a range of movies for kids of all ages.
