American River is a peaceful fishing village noted not only for the great fishing but also for the abundant wildlife and birdlife including the rare glossy black cockatoo. Scenic walking trails allow you to get a close up and personal view of our famous wildlife.

We have 5 new self-contained units each with a BBQ on its patio overlooking the water. Units 8 and 9 can accommodate up to 5 people.
Unit 10 up to 4 people
Units 11 and 12 up to 3 people.

We have 4 new 2B/R self contained air cond.nature cabins built in 2006.A peaceful secluded undercover BBQ for our cabin guests.
We are a friendly family owned business only too happy to talk to you re highlights and places of interest to visit on KI. We can arrange ferry travel, the best fishing charters, bus tours and wildlife and sightseeing tours.

When we first arrived on KI we did not know what to expect. Dave and Jeannie made us feel so welcome and at home. The units are beautiful and spotless with wonderful sea views {the same views as shown on the website, not like so many that show views that are not from their property} We had a fantastic unforgetable holiday {as a bonus we went home with an esky full of fish fillets. Locality

Kangaroo Island is one of the few remaining places unspoiled by humans. If you enjoy beautiful beaches, rugged coastline, wildlife, fishing, boating or just relaxing, then this is the island for you.

The town of American River nestles into the hillside,where the bush meets the bay. Situated at the mouth of Pelican Lagoon, it is noted for its fishing and bird watching. It is centrally situated and ideal as a base for touring the island.

I have been fishing professionally for 30 years and will happily share my knowledge with you including:

. Jetty, rock or beach fishing

Property

Our units opened late 2004, therefore, are fresh and new. We have endeavoured to be environmentally friendly, using solar hot water, and planting extensively with native vegetation.

Your view from the patio of the unit, looks out through the gum trees onto picturesque Eastern Cove, a large sheltered bay, with dolphins and seals as regular visitors.

We are owner operators and offer friendly, personal service.We are happy to discuss your touring details with you, tailoring your holiday to suit you.

The property is 60 metres from the sea and a 2 minute walk to wharf, jetty and boat ramp.
