Holiday house

This comfortable and modern home has all the comforts of city living with the relaxed atmosphere of the country. Facing north it enjoys winter sun and stunning sea views. The house is surrounded by native fauna and is also home to many birds, wallabies and echidnas. There is a large deck with outdoor dining suite, perfect for lounging around, relaxing and enjoying nature at its best. The house is generously appointed with full kitchen facilities and equipment, many books, DVDs, CDs and games.
The 5km beach is sandy and a safe place for children to play and explore, also perfect for water sports and long walks. The waters are crystal clear and predominantly calm with a boat ramp for small craft at the southern end.

Locality

Island Beach is a pristine north facing beach which enjoys safe waters for swimming, snorkling, fishing and sailing. The area is surrounded with unspoilt bushland and many native animals and birds can be seen whilst walking or cycling. The island has many attractions which are outlined in a visitors information folder at the home.

Property

The property is a comfortable 4 bedroom family home with stunning views, secluded and private, set in over 1 hectare of native bushland. Easily accessible from Cassini Street and within 40m of the calm waters of Island Beach. There is a generous drive with plenty of parking for cars and boats. The deck is spacious and affords great views of the sea and coastline while still enjoying the privacy of being nestled in native pines.

Beach

A beach shade is available for guest use, there are also small body boards that guests are welcome to use. The beach is less than 5 minutes walk from the house, there is a small dirt road in front of the house and then immediately is the access to the beach. The beach can be seen from all main rooms of the house and the deck.

Birdwatching

Information provided on local bird population and sightings, Bird-watching available on-site, Binoculars provided.

Binoculars are available for guests' use. We also have two bird identification books and a bird feeder in front of the house.

Bushwalking & wilderness

Bushwalking maps provided, Located near a National Park.

There are many great national parks and walking trails on Kangaroo Island. A book detailing walks in and around Penneshaw is available for guests to read and there are other walks outlined in our guest folder.

Family Friendly

We also provide a high chair for childrens' use. The games room contains games, a pool table and another television. The beach is a 5 minute walk from the house and is sandy and safe for playing on. A beach shade is provided for guests use.

The beach in front of our property is safe and suitable for beach fishing. There are very good fishing areas close by, details of which are including in our guest information folder. Our property has sufficient parking for 2 cars and boats. There is a sandy boat ramp approximately 5 minutes from our property and a hard boat ramp at Baudin Beach, approximately 10 minutes away. Crab rakes are available for guests' use, but fishing equipment would need to be brought with you. There is a dedicated sink for cleaning fish underneath the house and a freezer to store bait in the laundry.

Our property is situated in native scrub whilst still enjoying stunning views of the ocean and American River. The deck is secluded and private, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the scenery whilst not becoming part of the scenery!

There are 3 golf courses on Kangaroo Island, Penneshaw which is approximately 15 minutes drive from our property is a pretty 9 hole course. Parndana which is inland has an 18 hole course as does Kingscote.

Waterfront

Accommodation within 50 metres of waterfront available, Absolute waterfront, Expansive water views.

Our property overlooks the beach and is approximately 40 metres from the beach itself. There is a mooring in the water in front of the property which can be made available to guests by prior arrangement. The sundeck, lounge room, dining room and 2 main bedrooms all have sea views.
