The Great Inland Fishing Festival
Held during January each year and runs over a 9 day period. The fishing competition takes place in the many water ways around the district including Copeton Dam, the Gwydir River, the Macintyre River and Pindari Dam. The festival is designed as a family affair and daily reports are heard over 2NZ, the local radio station
In addition to the fishing, art exhibitions, busking competitions, yabbie racing, duck races, tagged fish and a special dinner are a part of the festival. Details can be obtained form the Tourism Centre
