"Dreams are made of a place like this! The delightful style and provision of all comforts could not be bettered!"
Guest Comments: - No guest comment.
We have both travelled a lot and tried to think of every detail to make our B&B the dream place to stay, with everything you might need for a special, memorable retreat.
The original 1913 weatherboard cottage has twelve foot ceilings, white wood panelling and a deep shady verandah for you to relax on.
The light and airy guestrooms have been renovated and decorated to create a relaxed, uncomplicated, beachy feel.
Painted fresh white, they are bright and uncluttered - styled with a hint of ‘art deco’ and ‘shabby chic’. There are no doillies, no chintz or dried flowers, or knitted toilet-roll holders at our B&B...
French doors lead out onto the verandah or garden. Both rooms have huge private/ensuite bathrooms with cast iron claw-foot baths and roomy separate showers. (The Verandah room has a double ended claw-foot bath and a heated towel-rail, and the garden room bathroom has underfloor heating).
• The most comfortable mattress we could find, soft non-allergenic pillows, crisp cotton linen, doona (duvet) and pure wool blankets. Electric blankets in winter.
• There is a fridge as well as a kettle with all kinds of tea and coffee. Chocolates and biscuits too.
• CD/clock radio, DVD TV with a selection of 50 favourite movies (classics and quirky, old and new).
• Huge fluffy bath towels, beach towels, a hairdryer and even an umbrella, just in case…
The Verandah room has its own private french door entrance off the verandah and a entrance seperate from the rest of the house.
The Garden room is another big, white room with high raked ceilings, French doors onto the garden patio and has a huge private bathroom. The area can be taken as a 'family suite' as there is a small, basic twin room attached exclusively for accompanying children/parents or family. Use of the small room is charged by the person ($35 kids/$55 adults per extra bed used).
There is a very large & comfy sitting-room and dining-room/library for guests to use with a real wood-burning log fire in winter.

"Makes us feel as though we are home...We adore it here, BOOK US IN SAME DATE NEXT YEAR!" J&L Sydney
LocalityHuskisson is the ‘Gateway to Jervis Bay’ and our place, Husky B&B (as it is fondly called by the locals), is a three minute walk to the village shops, top quality restaurants, the ‘café strip’, as well as the famous Husky Pub.
Both Huskisson Pictures (a cosy heritage cinema with a recent release programme) and the public wharf are just around the corner from us - a three minute walk away. All the Jervis Bay dolphin and whale cruises start from here. Dolphin Watch and Dolphin Explorer both claim “a better than 95 % sighting chance of seeing dolphins” and give you a free cruise if you are unlucky enough not to see any.
The heritage open-air sea pool and local beaches are also five to ten minutes walk. Exquisite Hyams Beach (Its claim as “whitest sand in the world” is hotly debated ) and Booderee National Park are a five to ten minute drive.
Jervis Bay is known world-wide for its stunning white sand beaches and clear waters. The Marine Park is eight times the size of Sydney Harbour (15km across)and is surrounded by National Parks, small seaside villages, secret inlets, creeks and coves. The climate is coastal temperate, not too different to Sydney and the bay is breathtakingly beautiful at all times of the year.
Apart from the many dolphins that live in the bay, you can see kangaroos on the beaches or in the bush, an incredible variety of native coloured parrots and lorikeets as well as possums that live in our trees. Rare black glossy cockatoos and several resident sea eagles are also seen regularly.
Humpback whales visit in June/July for their winter migration north and then again in September/ October/ November as they return south with their calves. You can see them on an organised cruise, or from the high sea cliffs in the National Park. Dolphin pods (groups) are often seen from the beaches as well as the cruise boats.
Jervis Bay is the most popular diving site in Australia after The Barrier Reef, thanks to its incredible visibility and variety of marine life. PropertyThe water stays crystal clear because of the amazing lack of development on the shores, the ancient untouched seagrasses and the fact that there are no major rivers flowing into the bay.
We also have a rich aboriginal culture in the area – Booderee National Park is owned and run by the local aboriginal community (in conjunction with Environment Australia) and you can go on a ‘bush tucker tour’ through the park with Barry Moore from the Koori community of Wreck Bay or visit Laddy Timbery’s Aboriginal gallery across the road from us. Also situated in the Huskisson Heritage Centre is the Maritime Museum which houses the 1911 Sydney Harbour ferry ‘The Lady Denman’ - one of many boats built in Huskisson over the last century.
