"The property has a real rustic feel with all of the basics for a comfortable stay (including insect repellant). Complete privacy and freedom to explore the beautiful State forests. The wildlife is very tame including kangaroos, king parrots, Wonga pigeons, Satin Bower birds and a rare sighting of a small possum (this is all from the front verandah). The nearby attractions include Wallis Garden Nursery specialising in water plants and not far from the huge selection of Hunter Valley wineries and olive groves."

"Old Mother Hubbard meets Heath Robinson. This place was a fantastic find. The accommodation comprises a small hut with a wrap around porch and an almost en suite bathroom. The hut is nicely furnished and immaculately clean. Had we been more organised we should have arrived earlier to have given us time to fire up the barbecue and sip beer as we watched the night creep in across the pond. The noise of the cicadas was quite deafening when we first arrived but as they quietened down we drifted off to sleep to the magical songs from the frogs/toads. The next morning we followed the bush trail marked out by the owners - quite a hard up hill walk but totally worth it. A lyrebird dashed out of the bushes in front of us and we saw yellow robins, a fantail bird, red brow finch, kookaburra and heard bell birds. Would I go back, definitely."
