Locality

Tizzana is just 15 minutes from Windsor, an historic town in Sydney’s rural fringe. The region is surrounded by National Parks including the World Heritage Greater Blue Mountains National Park and Wollemi wilderness. The Putty road, one of the major routes to the Upper Hunter Valley vineyards, is close by.

Property

Tizzana is a National Trust listed building (C1817). It is an imposing two-storied building with a Mediterranean feel, built of local sandstone . It is set in a peaceful valley and overlooks a pond of water lilies. A unique working winery and vineyard with a fascinating contribution to early Australian Viticulture.

The valley has a diversified list of birds. The big lagoon is a plus and there is half a dozen species of parrots to be seen in the immediate area. 30 regular bird species can be seen, but up to 50 species if you are there for several days.

Located in a small valley, Tizzana Vineyards have their own vineyards and cellar door. Within the valley is also another vineyard and cellar door that you can visit.

Tizzana is an historic vineyard with grapes first planted in 1882 with the cellars dating to 1887. Another cellar door is within walking distance.
