Locality

Nestled at the foot of Mt Hotham and the snow fields, Harrietville is a very pretty town with lots of interesting local history from the Gold Mining Days

Why not try your luck at gold panning in the Ovens River or explore the old gold mine trails.

Summer is hot, but the nights are cool and allows you to sleep comfortably, swim at the historic dredgehole which has a BBQ facility, tables and bench seating, an overhead sail for shelter and cooling, or swim the river holes.

Autumn is spectacular with breathtaking colours of the many deciduous English type trees and bushes.

Winter has its own beauty with the snow capped mountains of Mt Hotham and Feathertop, the picturesque glistening bare trees offers a beautifil vista, the low cloud formation over the valley is quite mystical and enchanting with the smoking chimnies on sunny frosty mornings.

And of course, Spring with all the blossoms and daffodils and fresh clean air for the bushwalking enthusiasts. The variety of birds are active and most interesting.
