Harrietville, Victoria
Enjoy our beautifully renovated one bedroom cottage, in historic 1890s Avalon House, bordering the Ovens River. It has its own private garden. We are near the ski fields, and a wide variety of outdoor activities and gourmet wine and trails.
"Great location close to rivers, walking tracks, and pubs / cafe. Good size yard for dog complete with kennel and running wire to secure dog in the yard but still allowing them freedom of movement.Fairly low fences so not suitable for dogs that jump. Neat, compact, comfortable accomodation inside."

"Great little place, plenty to do locally with a pub that has a great range of beer and a warm fire .
Heating was inadequate for the wet wintry couple of days we had there though."

"we didn't end up staying due to bad record keeping! when we arrived the place was still in a mess from the previous guests...so we were given the chance of having to wait round for an hour in the cold while it got cleaned...we chose to drive 60ks to the nearest town and had to pay for accommodation on the night! this is the first time this has ever happened to us...not impressed!! the accommodation looked nice enough and location nice. the operator did offer us a free bonus night for next time if we were out that way..."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Avalon Retreat, our very comfortable accommodation was well-appointed with a comfy bed, comprehensive kitchen with a good range of cutlery and crockery, excellent bathroom and pleasant lounge area. Everything we needed to know we were informed of in very detailed notes that arrived when we booked. The property was also clean, comfortable and well-kept and we used the BBQ extensively with red wine in hand. Thank you to the crew at Avalon House for making our weekend a pleasure. Cheers, Owen & Anita."

"Avalon Retreat in Harrietville is very hospitable to visitors. We were impressed by the scrumptious food at "Coppi's" and "Bella's" down the road. The people were all friendly and helpful. Our dog was welcome as well, and the whole town seems to be dog heaven. Our accommodation, while basic, had a comfortable bed and lovely decor. Harrietville will definitely be on our agenda again!
