Guest Reviews

"Just what we were looking for... somewhere unique, peaceful yet close enough to Canberra to do the tourist circuit without too much extra time in the car. The fact that the hosts were also extremely child friendly was a bonus - my two year old son really enjoyed himself and loved sleeping in the train! A lovely trip we will always remember"

"The place was great for a get away. Not really for families with young children. Family carriages could have more internal utilities (microwave).
Saw the couples carriage and they had more room for less people. Would be better suited for the family with children."

"The friendliness of the hosts. The accommodation was comfortable and we loved all the memorabilia all over the place. The breakfast was very enjoyable with lovely touches such as the words and pictures on the toast. The housekeeping was great everyday. We loved the rural location, great views, well kept gardens. My children loved it, especially my train-buff son.

"Very unique accommodation. Sleeping on the red train was great with all the memorabillia on the walls and the old silver sink in the bathroom. Wonderful views over the valley and the Brindabellas on the horizon which inspired us to get out our easels and paint. The bed was very comfortable with lovely sheets which is important for a weekend stay. Even though it was very hot that weekend we got a cool breeze blowing through the train at night, thank goodness.

"It was great. My son who is a hughe train fan was in seventh heaven. It was very comfortable and everything we needed. We even had the pool to ourselves. There were other people there but we didn't see anyone until breakfast time."

"Wonderful if you are a train buff. Nostalgic, the memorabilia takes one back to our youth.
Very comfortable and romantic. Hosts were very friendly and provided good breakfasts, well worth a couple of days, close enough to Canberra to do things there and close to many wineries and good eating places. "

"the room was comfortable. The accomodation was a lot more run down than the pictures would have us beleive and i felt that cleaning and dusting were not a priority. However the hosts were friendly, beds comfortable and surrounds great."

"Excellent if you are travelling with pets. Our hosts were very accommodating and catered for our every need. It was a very homely atmosphere that made you feel very comfortable from the word go. If you like memorabilia, then you will love the dining room where you have breakfast."

We felt vey welcome and the hosts are friendly and interesting. The accomodation is eclectic and somewhat offbeat, but that is what we were looking for."

"Delightful! The boys loved sleeping in the tram, playing tennis on the adjacent court and exploring the farm. The owners went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and provided us with a lot of useful infomation about Canberra. "
