At Longview Farm Cottage you'll discover a peaceful retreat among large pastoral properties where you can enjoy the Australian rural experience with complete peace and quiet.

Set on 200 acres, Longview Farm Cottage is built to take advantage of the sweeping views and colourful sunsets.

The two-bedroom, luxury colonial-style cottage is fully appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay including master loft bedroom with ensuite, fully equipped modern kitchen, wrap-around verandah, ceiling fans for summer and wood-burning stove for winter.

Located in Big Hill, just 25 kilometres from historic Marulan village, it is perfectly situated for excursions to regional attractions in the Southern Highlands and Southern Tablelands such as Wombeyan Caves, national parks, Taralga district, Bowral shops and Goulburn city.

* Take a scenic walk in protected state forest at Bungonia State Recreation Area.
* Bring your fishing rod and drop a line the nearby Tarlo or Wollondilly Rivers.
* Explore the local Wombeyan Caves.
Bring your mountain bike and go for a ride in the bush.
* Enjoy lunch or dinner at The Terminus Hotel in Marulan and browse the country shops.
* Take a scenic drive through the Swallowtail Ranges to the village of Taralga, stopping along the way at Bannaby – an area rich in pastoral history.
* Visit shearing sheds and historic colonial churches. Enjoy a pub lunch or a bite at one of the local cafes, and browse the country market.
* Get to know Goulburn, Australia’s first inland city and explore heritage properties from cathedrals to convict pubs, villages of stone and rambling homesteads.

Our rural property is home to a variety of bird species that can be seen from the windows or the verandah. Just metres from the verandah, there is a bird roost where the cockatoos visit for seed and a large shady tree providing a home for a number of birds.

Bungonia State Recreation Area is located a short 45-min. drive from Longview Farm Cottage. There are a number of bush walks at different levels, from easy to challenging.

Longview Farm Cottage is a rural property set on 200 acres. We frequently stock cattle on the property and there are two resident alpacas, which interact with guests quite happily. Guests are welcome to walk around the property.

There are fishing spots at the Tarlo River, an approx. 15 min drive from the property.

Longview Farm Cottage is in a secluded, private location and we welcome all guests who respect our well-appointed, newly built facility.

Pet friendly

Small dogs (less than 11 kg) are permitted, Medium dogs (11 kg to less than 34 kg) are permitted, Secure, fully fenced running area, Large dogs (34 kg or heavier) are permitted.

We welcome pets but ask that they remain outside of the house. There is a wide wrap-around verandah with plenty of shelter where your pet can sleep. Note that the property is fully fenced, but it is rural fencing, designed to keep in livestock. You'll need to consider whether this kind of fencing is appropriate to keep your dog safe.

Rockclimbing & Abseiling

Bungonia State Recreation area is popular with people for rock climbing / abseiling. It is an approx. 45 min drive from Longview Farm Cottage.
