Shetland Rest offers the best in self-contained Huon Valley accommodation. Nothing is forgotten to make your stay unforgettable. Pure comfort is matched with stunning views over the Huon River and beautiful Glaziers Bay. The modern renovated barn provides all the comforts of home. Packed with all the basics so you don't have to think or shop for every little thing. A restful retreat for couples or a safe and convenient family haven. The perfect base from which to explore the Huon Valley and Southern Tasmania.

Comprising two private bedrooms, one queen size, the other with twin beds. A fully equipped kitchen/laundry, separate cosy lounge, luxury heated bathroom and separate toilet. The nightly rate is for the entire cottage which comfortably accommodates four people. Continental breakfast provided. A gourmet hot breakfast hamper is available for $35. Pantry essentials provided. Fishing rods and BBQ are available for the hunter gatherers. For the less adventurous there's a short drive to the restaurants of Cygnet ! Little extras such as a dishwasher, air conditioning, free satellite broadband internet, widescreen HD TV with built-in DVD and an espresso machine will enhance your stay and provide exceptional value for money. Enjoy outdoor dining under a shaded pergola from where you can take in expansive vistas of the Huon Valley.

Our second visit within the year, we love this place! Thankyou Karen and Geoff as always for your warm hospitality. We have been around Aust in B & B's and this is the best. The warmth, comfort, lovely decor, thoughtful provisions inside the chalet combined with spectacular views is hard to beat! A place we will always visit when we return to Tasmania next.

Locality

7 mins to Cygnet village
The location of Shetland Rest makes an ideal home away from home while exploring all attractions in and around the Huon Valley and D’Entrecasteaux Channel. Many of our guests travel further a field to Port Arthur and Mt. Field National Park on day outings. Salamanca Market is an easy 45 minute drive to Hobart. You are close to and only a short drive to Kettering to catch the ferry to Bruny Island. Cygnet is over the hill and Huonville is only 17 minutes away. Both villages have all the shopping required to stock up for your holiday. Woolworths is located in Huonville.

An idyllic elevated 6 acre property of grazing sheep pastures, rolling down to the Huon River. 180deg. panoramic views to the snow capped Hartz Mountains. Ever changing vistas with weather rolling in from the southern ocean.
For bird lovers, the passing parade of bird life, especially the sea eagles, following the shores of the Huon River is a thrilling sight. For those that appreciate pure beauty, this property has it all.
There is a lovely garden of natives, roses and ornamental trees dotted around the cottage. Surrounded by cherry orchards on two boundaries. Clean fresh water from rainwater tanks.
