"Our family (2A, 3 C and friend visiting from Japan) had a wonderful stay at Fauna Australia. We stayed in the Kangaroo unit and found it to be clean, comfortable and spacious considering there were 6 of us. The wildlife was amazing and everyone (especially the kids) enjoyed feeding the animals. Kirsten and Dean were very generous with their time including koala feeding sessions and a night tour by torchlight to see all of the nocturnal animals. There is so much to see and do in the area, I would recommend a few days stay. Kids loved the glow worms at Melba Gully. I think that this accommodation is a unique opportunity and I will be recommending it to all of my friends. Our friend visiting from Japan particularly loved Benny and I can't think of anywhere else we could have gone that would have given her a comparable experience. Thanks very much Dean and Kirsten for a great long weekend! We would love to come back!!"

"Wombat Cottage is delightful. The animals are largely nocturnal, so you have to go around at night with a torch to see them. This is a different experience and well worthwhile."

"My family (2A & 2C) booked a 2 nights stay from Nov 21 - 22, 2008 at the Kangaroo family room and was surprised by the clean and spacious unit. Though it was raining the whole of our first day we do eventually get to see all the animals on the 2nd day. The Wombat was really cute and the kids were so excited to be able to pat the Koalas and feed the animals with the food provided by the host, Kristen.
We have had a great time here! Thank you Kristen and Dean, for the lovely experience.
Location was near to Melba Gully where you can view the glow worm. However, because of the rain, we did not get to do this activity and it's really a great disappointment. But all was not loss as we managed to track through the Triple Waterfall @ Phillip Track, the following morning which is about 20 mins from here."

"The accommodation was quite comfortable if a little spartan. Pots and pans needed replacing and the fridge leaked! However, it was a fun few days being so close to animals and being able to feed them and watch their nocturnal behaviour. Would recommend the place or a few days' stay for families with children. Local attractions were interesting and it was less than 4 hours drive along the highway back to the airport. "

"Great place to stop. The hosts were brilliant, giving us excellent access to the animals. A collection of native animals in such an intimate setting. The accommodation was clean, tidy and well-equipped. Our hosts knew so much about the animals and were very giving with their time. Excellent value for money and a must for anyone visting the area."

"We had a wonderful stay at 'Fauna Australia.' It was such a privilege to meet so many of Australia's animals up close. We loved living next door to the wombats and having the pademelons hopping about by our front door.
Service and value for money were excellent; our accommodation included everything you could need and the overall experience was great (even in the middle of winter!)
You won't regret visiting!"

"Staying in amongst the wildlife at the 'Fauna Australia Wildlife Retreat' was a lovely family experience. My daughters loved it (15 & 5 years old), especially the youngest who is still talking about feeding the possum that stayed with her for so long her legs got sore but she kept on feeding him anyway.
Our hosts, Kirsten and her husband are very knowledgeable about the animals, welcoming and friendly and spent ample time with us so we could feed the koalas.
Having travelled a lot in and out of Australia, I feel this to be a unique opportunity, as we were the only ones there and the park is not open to public but only to guests. Also the cottage is very comfortable with everything you need including a spa bath, which I indulged in, having a lovely long soak both days we were there.
A quality couple of days along the Great Ocean Road experience, especially for families or overseas visitors. Thanks guys!"

"This is probably one of the best places to take the family for a holiday. Affordable good clean & tidy accommodation, fantastic opportunity for the kids to get up close & feed the animals, close to numerous attractions & the added bonus of lovely friendly hosts. Thankyou Kirsten & Dean, we enjoyed our time immensely & hope that we are able to return one day. All the best from the Clark Family"

"The kids had great fun at night watching the nocturnal animals scurry around. They loved feeding the pademelons in the courtyard each morning after breakfast. It certainly was value for money and as the accommodation was close to a national park. We spent one evening with our torches looking at glowworms in their natural environment. A great few days away."

"The Fauna Australia Wildlife retreat is a great place to take a young family. It is placed in an ideal setting. The kids loved having the ability to feed the wildlife (all feed was provided). They got up close and personal with the koalas and wallabies. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, all facilities were adequately covered. The hosts were friendly and informative. We stayed over the Easter break and the Bunny even visited during the night and placed eggs around our cottage surrounds (Thanks Kirsten).
The cottages are within an easy driving distance to attractions, Otway Fly, waterfalls, 12 Apostles, glow worms, Appollo Bay etc.
We enjoyed our experience and would recommend it to anyone.
Thanks
Tony, Karin, Alyshia & Kaiden Clarke"
