Emu Bay, South Australia
Looking for relaxation, tranquility, magnificent panoramic 180 degree ocean views complimented with great hospitality.
"From the moment we arrived Debbie made us feel very welcome and comfortable.
The house is beautifully appointed with extremely comfortable private sleeping and bathroom facilities. All rooms take full advantage of the magnificent views.
After a full day exploring the island it was wonderful to return to Debbie's cheerful smile and fantastic meals. Nothing was too much trouble. A truly memorable holiday....thanks Debbie. Lyn & Mike Robinson"

"Debbie was the perfect landlady in the classic sense, making you feel welcome and as though you were sharing her home rather than just lodging.
The spread of food was like something out of an Enid Blyton novel (albeit with a distincly Greek twist) and we had lashings of everything from freshly caught mullet to homemade mulberry jam. We both left with a smile even if we were carring a few extra pounds...
The facilites were good and the location was handy for Kingscote. The rugged north coast of the KI was beautiful and Emu Bay a nice quiet spot.

"Our stay at Lovell Dene was a true highlight of our break. Debbie was a wonderful host and together with her friend Terry, they were great company - attentive and unintrusive. Debbie's house is in the most breath taking position at Emu Bay with spectacular views and we lost count of how many times we said we wished we were staying for much longer. Our room was lovely with an incredible view straight out to sea. Debbie's food was just wonderful with her Greek heritage shining through in her warmth and ability to keep feeding you! Good reason to go down to the bay for a long walk on the beach and work it all off! And we still want a bottle of Terry's olives - superb! Thankyou both."

"We had a wonderful time at Lovell Dene in October 2007. Great and nearest view on the ocean at Emu Bay, perfect greek food and a very wormly atmosphere. "

"There is no better place to stay! My wife and I stayed for our honeymoon, and I could not imagine a better experience (and we were the very first guests, I can not imagine it improving). The accomodations are very nice, warm, beautiful view of the water. It is officially four stars but I would rate it 4.5 stars and nicer than the 5 stars on the island. However, what makes Lovell Dene stand head and shoulders above the rest is the owner Debbie. She is a terrific host. Debbie has just one couple at a time and devotes her efforts and attention solely on your stay. Furthermore Debbie, is a phenomenal chef (and take this comment seriously, as I eat in the finest restautrants in NYC, where I live). Whether it is homemade pancakes, rack of lamb, or one of her other specialties, everything was delicious. Also Debbie will cater her cooking to the types of foods you enjoy most.
I can not say enough about our experience. Lovell Dene exists because Debbie enjoys her work. Other places exist to make money (and in fact most will push a professional tour that is not even close to being worth the fee). I leave you with one final comment: Most people would recommend Lovell Dene if you were going to Kangaroo Island. I recommend Lovell Dene if you are going to Australia. It is not to be missed.
"
