Holiday house

On the beachfront of beautiful Sultana Point Beach, Edithburgh, Robinson's Shack offers a classic beachside holiday.
The shack has absolute frontage to arguably the best beach of the Yorke Peninsula, and right up there with any in the state.
It is the ideal getaway for:
- Families with children (safe, gentle water & fluffy, white sand)
- Swimmers and snorkelers (warm, clear, shallow water, many fish)
- Sunbathers (5 steps to the door for a new book or magazine, and refreshments at your leisure)
- Kite surfers and windsurfers (Sultana passage held the world speed record for windsurfing in the 1970's)
- Scuba Divers (Troubridge reef is home of the famous Leafy Sea Dragon, many other marine creatures and also the site of numerous wrecks)
- Fishers (a well-renowned spot for great catches, with boat launching nearby and pier at Edithburgh)
- Beachcombers (miles of sandy beach, sparkling seas and marine wildlife)
- Relaxers or Romantics (sparkling sea, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, twinkling town lights and the beam of Troubridge lighthouse across the water)
The narrow spit of Sultana point runs east-west and Robinson's is situated on the sheltered northern side, quite near the point. Perchance the wind swings to a direction which doesn't suit today? - Just stroll around the point and you have yourself an alternative beautiful beach with reverse conditions!
Although it is a humble 1960's built beach shack, Robinson's is what a beach house should be. Bright and clean, decorated with a bit of nautical kitsh and right where is should be... on the sand, just metres from the water's edge.

Locality

The historic port town of Edithburgh, with it’s stone buildings, Pubs, restaurants, shops, popular museum and pier is an easy walk from Robinson’s Shack. There is also a fantastic playground and a walking/cycling trail that goes all the way from Edithburgh to Coobowie. Eat in Edithburgh town, get take-away, or maybe just replenish supplies so you can quickly get back to your favourite shack on Sultana Point beach.

Robinson's Shack is not 5-star glitz, but it is very comfortable and clean. It is fully-equipped with all you need to enjoy a care-free holiday. The 3-bedroom accommodation has a self-contained kitchen, bathroom (separate toilet) and laundry. It has two Queen bedrooms, and a bedroom with single bunks.

Absolute beachfront, in the dunes... step off the verandah onto the sand of a fantastic beach...

Family Friendly

Plastic crockery and cutlery available for children.

Known as one of the safest beaches in South Australia, the Sultana Point beach is north facing and extremely protected. The waves - if any - are extremely gently, the slope is gradual, the water is relatively warm (for South Australia!), and the water and sand are clear of rocks, stingers or other nasties...

But if you want waves you can walk 1km - all on the same beach - around the spit of land, to the southern facing beach where you will get more of a ride on the boogie board...

Robinson's Shack is the ideal place for a beach holiday with children of all ages, from real 'littlies' to teenagers...

Fishing

Fishing available on-site, Fishing spots available nearby, Located on waterfront, Located less than 5 mins walk to water, Boatramp within 5 minute drive, Boat storage/parking available onsite.

A well known fishing spot, you can fish from the beach, the nearby jetty, or bring a dinghy (which you could store on-site) or if you have a bigger boat, make use of the Edithburgh marina and boat ramp just 2km away.... (sorry I don't know much about fishing myself so I don't know the types of fish around!)

There is a local tackle shop that can provide you gear and advice...

Alternatively, you might like to book a fishing charter - there are a number operating on the Yorke Penisula, but look into this in advance as availability varies.

Scuba diving

Scuba diving is popular from Edithburgh jetty (3km away), as there is a reef nearby and shipwreck. You will need to bring your own gear or hire it. We don't have any gear, so if you are interested in this, please look into it first. The local Edithburgh fishing/surfwear shop may have information about the availbility of gear and/or tours...
