The spacious cedar cabins which accommodate two adults each (C 2 also has sofa bed), have an open plan modern layout and are self-contained as well as having a restaurant 400 metres away.#
Even though they are self contained, "to get you started", we spoil you with a freshly baked loaf, supply some jams, farm fresh eggs and tea & coffee.

The cabins are well appointed with a quiet air conditioner as well as a ceiling fan (and a log fire for the winter months). It also has a LCD TV with DVD/CD player as well as a modern kitchen with dishwasher.

The bathroom with soft lighting has a two person spa and heated towel rail (cabin 2 even has floor heating !). The cabin's verandah with barbeque offers you the chance to unwind and enjoy the magnificent scenery.

Bluegums allows you to appreciate the majestic beauty of BARRINGTON TOPS NATIONAL PARK and nearby CHICHESTER DAM, with the charms and history of DUNGOG, MORPETH, CLARENCE TOWN and STROUD a drive away. You can also enjoy the fruits of the Hunters famous wine makers skills from the boutique wineries at Gresford.

The facilities - restaurant within walking distance #, swimming pool and full size tennis court with electric BBQ. Two fresh water fishing dams, walking trails, a great region for horse riding and there are stable facilities if you want to bring your own horse. Thereafter perhaps a relaxing massage!

To Realy Spoil Yourself, A Candle Lit Dinner In Your Cabin and/or an escorted tour & walk into the rain forest. It Can Be Arranged but needs booking in advance.

Q - CAN WE BRING PETS ?
A - "Accommodation for your Pet", Local Sue Flannery is 14 km south of Dungog on the way to us. For Dogs and or cats. As you will see, the native animals can't tolerate domestic animals around here.

Our stay at Bluegums was peaceful and relaxing. We loved the wildlife at our door step. The peace and quiet and the town and neighbouring towns were lovely. The bread, bubbles etc on arrival was a nice touch, as were the candles.

Locality & Ecology


Our fabulous location, only a 2 1/2 hours drive north of Sydney (from start of F3 expressway) and 1 1/2 hours from Newcastle. Even closer from Maitland, Raymond Terrace, or the Central Coast !

You can appreciate the majestic beauty of BARRINGTON TOPS NATIONAL PARK and CHICHESTER DAM nearby, with the charm of DUNGOG and historic MORPETH and the skills of some of the famous Hunter Valley winemakers a pleasant drive away.

Barrington Tops National Park - World Heritage Listed area. Mist shrouded ancient Antarctic Beech trees and evolution linked to the super-continent of Gondwana when Australia was severed from Africa, South America and Antarctica and started drifting north. Arguably, this was the single most influential natural event in Australia's history. Half of Australia's plant species, one-third of its mammals and birds and 23 endangered species of animals depend on this wilderness National Park.
Our Pets Policy:-
As you will see, the native animals can't tolerate domestic animals around here. Don't despair, "Accommodation for your Pet", Local Sue Flannery is 14 km south of Dungog on the way to us. Boarding Rates are - Dogs and or cats - $10 each per day !

Things to do


Swimming, tennis, fishing, bike riding and bush walking in nearby world heritage listed forests or Chichester Dam, a great region for horse riding and there are stables if you want to bring your own horse. Or just unwind, observing the flora & fauna from the veranda !

Enjoy an escorted drive with the host's vehicle into the rain forests. See the pristine surrounds on a walk amongs trees that are hundreds of years old. Learn a little about the flora that has made The Barrington Tops famous & awarded World Heritage status. This is a approx 5 hour journey and includes a candle lit dinner for two later in your cabin by a well qualified chef. This service must be booked in advance. Cost is $295 for 2 persons. Alcohol is at extra cost. Applicable on mid week days only.

You may also split this up, the tour or the dinner. Booking in advance is essential.
