Cottage, Holiday house

Located on the beach front with a 100 metre walk to the sandy beach. The brick cottage features a clear aspect to the sea breeze and louvres and fans throughout ensure a cool stay. The cottage has a dining suite and an outdoor setting on the back verandah. Cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery is supplied. A portable gas bar-b-que is available. An outdoor fireplace is located near the house for relaxing around the fire on those cool dry season nights. Laundry facilities are also available. The cottage is powered by town power and water is reticulated from rainwater tanks at the site.

Visitors are regularly referred to the cottage by other existing accommodation providers at Dundee Beach.

Locality

Dundee Beach is located 140 kilometres sw of Darwin. The road out is mainly bitumen with 40 km of formed gravel and takes approx 90 minutes driving. Access during the 'wet season'(Dec-Mar)can sometimes be cut for up to 48hrs. The road to Dundee passes the Territory Wildlife Park and the immensely popular Litchfield National Park.
Dundee Beach is reknowned for its fishing and has become very popular as a weekend destination for Darwinites. The nearby Finnis River boasts excellent barramundi and crab fishing and is just 20km south of the boat ramp. The Perron Islands are located 50 km south and is famous for reef and pelagic fishing. Just off-shore from the Lodge are several "jewy holes" where a tussle with these monsters leave most fishermen breathless.
The surrounding monsoon rainforest hosts a variety of birdlife including the rainbow pitta and the rose-crowned pidgeon.
