Property

Ranelagh was built in 1875 for Joshua Gill who wished to accommodate his large family of 10 children. Ranelagh was built in a stately manner, which is unrivalled in Dubbo, even by today’s standards, to reflect Gill’s status as a prosperous local merchant. Gill owned the first general store in Dubbo, The Overland Store.

Whether you want to be active or just sit back and relax, Ranelagh offers you a diversity of choice. Outside, you can walk around Ranelagh's sweeping lawns and gardens, take in the nature reserve at the Macquarie river across the road, swim in the salt water pool, play tennis on the fully lit tennis court or practise your golf.

Inside, play snooker or pool on the full size table, bask in front of an open fire and revel in the period architecture of Ranelagh’s formal lounge, the perfect place to enjoy a book or an afternoon nap. Relax with a glass of wine while you watch the latest movies on our big screen. Our home theatre has a video projector, a large 3 metre screen and surround sound. Watch your favourite television channel or videos and DVDs. We have a selection of videos and DVDs or feel free to bring your own.
