White House is a 110 year old two storey weatherboard mansion situated at 14 Formby Road, Devonport.

The house was originally built around 1900 as a manor home. After the second World War the building served as a local maternity hospital. In 1962 the property was extended and converted into 5 separate flats and painted white. It was referred to locally as the White House.

Two and a half years ago we found this grand old house in poor repair and at risk from developers. Our plan is to save the house and transform it into a unique accommodation destination on Tasmania's North Coast.

Stage one of our renovation is now complete and we're proud to offer 2 fully self-contained two-bedroom holiday apartments. Styling is funky retro and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Each apartment has its own private kitchen and bathroom and sleeps up to 6 people. All bedrooms contain a queen-size bed. Single bunk beds and fold-out beds are also included. Each bedroom has a TV & DVD player. Linen and Towels are provided as is tea, coffee, milk and breakfast cereal.

Upstairs apartment 2 offers great views through the front bedroom bay windows while downstairs apartment 1 offers great views in its own 3 metre wide high definition movie cinema.

Our natural gas-fired central heating will make your winter stay cozy and warm.
