Cygnet Hotel (also known as Cygnet Art Hotel and the Top Hotel) is a unique heritage-listed hotel offering accommodation in simple but stylish refurbished guest rooms. It provides the best hotel accommodation in Cygnet and the Huon Valley. Guests have a secure and comfortable stay and enjoy the many hotel facilities. Cygnet Hotel is home to the Black Swan Restaurant, where our chef carefully selects, prepares and presents only the best local produce. Espresso coffee and cakes are available all day from the Café or from the Wine Bar. Sample local wines and Tasmanian draught beers on tap. Local acoustic musicians provide gentle afternoon entertainment on the weekends. There is also some local art displayed. As well as superbly providing for individuals, couples and families, Cygnet Art Hotel welcomes group bookings. The hotel can accommodate up to 32 people and is able to cater for large parties and conferences.

Stroll to several galleries on the Cygnet Art Trail, and a history museum, in this charming country town.

Locality

Cygnet is surrounded by rolling hills and peaceful waterways. The town is situated in the Huon Valley, 50 minutes south-east of Hobart. It's a 15 minute drive from Huonville, 25 minutes from the Bruny Island ferry at Kettering/Woodbrigde, and 25 minutes drive from Geeveston on the way to the Tahune Air Walk. Cygnet Hotel (also known as the Cygnet Art Hotel, or the Top Hotel) is located on the main road of Cygnet, 300 metres uphill from the village centre.
Cygnet is well known for its annual Folk Festival, Art Galleries, Cafes, and nearby Wineries as well as its' scenic beauty.

Property

Originally named the Imperial Hotel when the town was known as Lovett, the construction of this heritage listed building began in 1907 and was completed in 1910. It was later operated by a committee and renamed the Community Hotel before becoming The Cygnet Hotel. The new name recognises the creativity of local musicians and artists. The Cygnet (Art) Hotel remains well known as the Top Pub because of its location and quality of service.
Helen Jackson and John Bremner purchased the property in 2007 and have been working DIY to appropriately restore it. It's time to celebrate Cygnet (Art) Hotels' CENTENARY!

We have seven Heritage Rooms. Five have queen sized beds (double room), one has three single beds (triple room), and one has two single beds (twin room).
There are also seven basic Budget rooms which we recommend as an alternative for back-packers. Five have double bunks (sleeps two), one has a bunk and a single bed (sleeps 3), and one has a double bed (sleeps two).
All bedding and linen is supplied.
