Cowes - beach and town

The Castle's seaside location is ideal for those who want to enjoy lazy walks along the rare North facing beach which also provides safe swimming. The village shops are only minutes away and are a shoppers delight with a wide variety of boutiques and coffee shops. Tennis courts are only a short walk and other sporting facilities are close by. The Gardens of the Castle are a delight a provide a refuge for a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. Jenni and Harley are knowledgeable hosts and can help you plan your holiday and select places to explore. On site car parking provided.

The Castle

The Castle was built in the late 1930's and is of the "folly" school of architecture. Because of its unique castellated frontage the locals have always called it "The Castle" and it was one of the most unusual old homes on the Island. Jenni and Harley bought the home in 1994 and have been building non stop ever since to creat their dream - a Boutique Hotel. It has been a favoured retreat of International guests since its inception and the Swiss call it "The smallest hotel in the World"! The gardens were practically non-existent by the time of their purchase and over the years they have planted hundreds of shrubs and trees to create a veritable oasis with pond and water features. The fine dining Restaurant "Boyles" has been featured now for many years in The Age Good Food Guide and the Castle is acclaimed internationally as a leader in small hotels as awarded by the International Hotel Society in Madrid.
