Cottesloe is home to more than 7,000 relatively affluent people from a range of social and cultural backgrounds spread across an area of 4 square kilometres. Our suburb is characterised by a mix of heritage and modern housing.
Always popular with locals and visitors the Cottesloe offers swimming, fishing, snorkelling, picnic areas, walking and cycling paths, cafes and restaurants.

Natural Environment
Here in Cottesloe visitors and locals alike flock to our popular beaches along with the other temptations including the golf course with an ocean view, the walking and cycling paths, the parklands and picnic areas, cafes and restaurants.
Whether your idea of a day at the beach means lying on white sand and soaking up the sun, paddling in a protected bay with the children, fishing, surfing waves, or exploring underwater reefs, we have it all.
Snorkel our Eco System
The coastline is monitored and cared for by the hard working volunteers of the Cottesloe Coast Care Association. With assistance from the Town of Cottesloe, they continue to revegetate the sand dunes with native plant species which in turn attract native birds and fauna.
The Cottesloe Reef ecosystem extends intermittently approximately 4.5km along the coast and approximately 1.5km off-shore. The reef is composed of limestone pinnacles, elevated limestone platforms, kelp beds and sponge gardens. It provides habitat and shelter for a vast range of aquatic life including fish, shellfish, crustaceans, weedy seadragons and the rare leafy seadragon.
