"This property was amazing, my mother and I wanted to stay longer it was a shame we only had the one night there. The beds were more comfortable than my bed at home! Maria, the owner of the property..."

Farm stays, Guest house, Self-contained apartment, Lodge
Located on the working farm "Barkala" (Aboriginal for 'sheltered place'), and right next to the fabulous Pilliga Pottery,
The philosophy behind The Studio is to offer a budget-priced farm stay. This shared accommodation is family friendly and enables guests to meet like-minded people to experience the pottery and our eco-friendly lifestyle. You can book all 3 bedrooms, or only one, with shared spacious communal living area and bathroom (plus additional second toilet). The living area has plenty of room for everyone, including a recreation area and reading nook.
The Studio, a friendly and relaxing place to stay, is perfect for large families or groups up to 16 people. This beautiful round mud brick building, with bedrooms furnished with handmade beds, has lots of character. It is nestled in its own garden for privacy, but is very conveniently located to both Pilliga Pottery and the Blue Wren Bush Café - which is available for delicious meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and morning and afternoon teas - coffee is a speciality!). Also when sufficient guests are on the property, the Wood Fired Pizza oven is fired up.
While parents relax, children can explore the farm in a safe secure environment or watch potters at work, be creative with clay or play out of doors. There is also the 'adventure' of meeting the farm animals.
The Australia Room, which can sleep up to 5 people, has a separate entrance, making, it an ideal get-away for singles or couples looking for cost effective farm-stay accommodation. Here you have the best of both worlds - a private area where you can put your feet up; and you can spoil yourself by enjoying meals in the farm's Blue Wren Café, as an alternative to sharing the kitchen facilities with the other Studio guests.
