Cottage, Walking Tours

The Barn has 1 Loft Style Bedroom, Living areas one with fold out Sofa Bed with linen provided, kitchenette with various cooking facilities, outdoor BBQ, internal wood fire, heaters, fans, aircon in bedroom, bath, flushing loo, an Outdoor All weather Room, 2.5 acres to wander, and all situated on the edge of a river. Dinner and dessert can be ordered and dlivered to you. Country Charm at it's best. All linen, blankets etc provided.

Check in is a 3pm unless arrangements are made prior to arrival date.

Coonabarabran

This is a unique country town with the magnificent backdrop of the Warrumbungle Mountain Range. We have been likened to the Byron of the South West and the Bowral of the North West, perfect for couples or families wanting something a bit different for a weekend.... or longer.

Property

The property is situated on a small acreage/semi rural block on the road to the Warrumbungle Mountain Range. Although 2.5kms from the town clock you would think you are miles away from anywhere. The Barn is very private and has all you need with the main house nearby.

The Barn has been designed with peace, tranquillity and romance in mind, but is also pet and family friendly. Strictly no pets allowed indoors, however the all weather outdoor area is more than adequate for pets.

The Barn is a very romantic style of accommodation, and there are books, games, guitars and wood fire, bath and candles. Please respect the peaceful surrounds and keep noise to a minimum.
The main house is approximately 30 metres away for your convenience.

Please bring your arts and crafts as there is plenty of outdoor space to set up.

Birdwatching

Bird-watching available on-site, Binoculars provided.

At any time of the year there are varied species of birds. Provided is a small pair of binoculars. There are also nesting boxes scattered around the property. The gum trees are always alive with kookaburras and king parrots.

Bushwalking & wilderness

Bushwalking and wilderness experiences located nearby, Located near a National Park.

The Warrumbungle National Park approximately 25 kms away where there is an information centre that provides maps and advise on the best walks etc.

Dinner, Bed and Breakfast

In-house evening meals available, Full cooked breakfast.

Breakfast provisions are provided to you for self catering. Dinner can be cooked and delivered to you in The Barn. Please ask for a menu at the time of booking if this interests you.

Eco-friendly

Building designed along eco-lines, Building made from ecologically friendly materials, Bio-cycle or equivalent waste system., Recycling facilities available.

The Barn has a very low footprint, made from mud brick, wood and iron. It is set on 2.5 acres, nearby to the main house. Noise is to be kept to a minimum as we live in a peaceful neighbourhood.

A portacot can be made available however please bring your own linen and blankets. Please ask at the time of booking for this to be made available. Children are welcome however any breakages must be paid for. Plastic glasses are provided, and also non breakable plates.

Motor Bike riders are very welcome however noise needs to be kept to a minimum as we live in a peaceful neighbourhood. Bikes are welcome to be parked near The Barn. There is no undercover parking.

Pet friendly

Small dogs (less than 11 kg) are permitted, Medium dogs (11 kg to less than 34 kg) are permitted, Large dogs (34 kg or heavier) are permitted, Pets are permitted outside only, Other domesticated animals reside at the property.

The cottage and property do not have secure fencing. Dogs need to be well behaved and well socialised as we have animals and it is a quiet neighbourhood. Cats are not permitted. Guests must ensure animals remain outside. There is an uncover area where pets can sleep. No other pets accepted.

Rockclimbing & Abseiling

Rockclimbing and/or abseiling facilities nearby.

If you are interested in climbing etc there are some wonderful places to go at the Warrumbungles if you have all your own gear.

It will occasionally snow here on the mountains. Wood is provided for the fire, however kindling needs to be collected.
