Bed & Breakfast

Mt Coolum Retreat is a purpose built Bed and Breakfast, providing complete privacy for guests. We are ideally located 2.5km from the beach at the heart of the Sunshine Coast.

The property features four guest rooms, with three rooms on the first level adjoining a large private guest lounge designed for relaxing and unwinding with books, magazines, games and a CD player. Each room has a private ensuite, queen or king bed, ceiling fan (3 rooms are air conditioned), flatscreen TV/DVD/CD player (complimentary DVD's available), hairdryer, private french door to deck, clock/radio with alarm, and toiletries, Tea, coffee biscuits and chocolates are provided and replenished daily and rooms are serviced daily. The living area opens onto a paved garden area with a kitchenette, outdoor setting and BBQ for guests' use. All rooms have private entrance from either the guest lounge area or french door from the guest's deck.

A delicious full cooked breakfast is included in the tariff and is served on the second level deck with stunning views to the Hinterland. Breakfast includes your selection from a fresh tropical fruit (seasonal) served with local yoghurt, a selection of cereals, sausages, bacon, eggs (poached, scrambled or fried), cooked tomato, toast, preserves, raisin toast, fresh juice, a selection of Twinings teas and Lavazza plunger coffee. Other specialties such as smoked salmon served with scrambled/poached eggs, croissants, muffins and crumpets are served periodically.

Mt Coolum Retreat is nestled on a quarter acre block surrounded by natural flora and an abundance of native wildlife. Kookaburras regularly visit our guests at breakfast time on the second level deck. Green tree frogs, many varieties of native birds, possums, geckos and small lizards all reside in our bush-land surrounds.

Accommodation was superb, everything was spotless, nothing was too much trouble, and it was certainly the best accommodation we stayed in during our Australia/New Zealand holiday (Ray and Sue, UK).

Our location

We are centrally located on the Sunshine Coast. A few minutes drive to pristine white sands and crystal clear waters of the Sunshine Coast’s beautiful beaches. A scenic twenty minutes drive to the north is cosmopolitan Noosa, thirty minutes drive south is beautiful Caloundra, with Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and Alexandra Headland in between. Thirty minutes drive west is the picturesque Sunshine Coast Hinterland dotted with charming small towns and villages with an abundance of things to see and do.

Scuba diving tours are available through local scuba diving companies. The most popular tour is to the recently sunk HMAS Brisbane which was sunk approximately 2km off shore adjacent to the nearby suburb of Mudjimba. Many fish and ocean life have turned to sunken ship into an atoll.
