Peppertree is a pet friendly house where responsible owners can enjoy the company of their pets while exploring the Clare Valley.

Peppertree is set in peaceful rural surroundings 100 metres from any roads. As the cottage is cosy we prefer to invite smaller dogs to stay. We have The Beehive in Mintaro and Aaby's in the Riesling Trail in Clare for larger dogs.

Your pet is welcome to join you in the house.

If you are looking to bring a much loved pet with you please mention this at the time of booking. We do charge an additional $20 if you are travelling with a pet.

Please bring food bowls and bedding with you. Any damage must be advised and paid for.

Not all guests staying at the property bring their pets, for us to continue to allow pets to holiday at the property we rspectfully ask that we find no trace of it either in side or in the garden on your departure.

3 bedroom settler's cottage 2 kms out of the heritage township of Mintaro.

There is a separate dining room with a table which can seat up to 8 guests.
We also have a high chair.

The bathroom has a walk in shower. All linen is supplied

In the lounge area there is a slow combustion fire which heats the whole cottage. There is an air conditioner, cd, dvd,video & tv
comfy couches

In the garden there is a BBQ and an alfresco dining area featuring a huge slab of Mintaro Slate, quarried just over the hill from the cottage, the quarry is still working you can visit to view the site from a vantage point.

Locality

In the township of Mintaro we have Timandra Garden,(a waterwise garden), Luis’ antiques, Mintaro Maze, The Magpie & Stump a country pub, Reilly's cellar door and cafe, The Tea Pot Inn. 2 kms out of Mintaro you can visit Martindale Hall .

The cottage is a pleasant walk or short 2 km drive from the heritage township of Mintaro and Martindale Hall. My guests also receive discount at several other wineries & attractions in the Clare Valley.

Property

Peppertree is near Tickles Cottage which has 2 bedrooms making it great for larger groups or two families travelling together.

The two cottages are on an original 80 acre section which was granted to Charles Simeon Hare in the 1840’s.

Peppertree was the original building. Tickles was built in the 1850’s by the Tickle family who bought the property from Hare and had 2 families living on the same property originally sharing the same bathroom kitchen and laundry facility. They are now completely independent.

In the 1800’s the property was a dairy farm & grew vegetables & fruit all of which was sold to the muleteers & bullockies travelling back to Burra after delivering copper ore to Port Wakefield
