Holiday house

This one and a half acre property is a great base from which to explore the cultural and historic attractions of the Castlemaine district.

Just a few minutes easy driving to Castlemaine township. the house offers seclusion and tranquillity in a natural setting. Kangaroos are regular visitors to the property and birdlife is abundant.

The property is fenced and offers an ideal and safe environment for children. There is lots of space to run around and trees to hide behind. A long gravel driveway gives plenty of scope for riding a bike within the confines of the property. There is also a padded trampoline to play on.

Head out the gate for a pleasant stroll around Fryerstown, or follow one of the many walking tracks in the Goldfields National Park, with their fascinating relics of the past such as stone miners' huts and blacksmiths' forges. The popular picnic spot of Vaughan Springs is also nearby.

Further afield you can make an excursion to Daylesford, an easy twenty minute drive. Bendigo is a half hour. Picturesque villages like Guildford and Newstead, and the many ancient cottages and farmhouses which dot the landscape make this region a photographer's paradise.

Locality

Fryerstown is a goldfields village situated on the Melbourne side of Castlemaine. The trip takes about 1 hour 15 minutes from the outskirts of Melbourne.

If coming from Melbourne, we recommend you come up via the picturesque 'back road' from Malmsbury - a great drive!

Alternatively, turn off the Calder at Elphinstone and head towards Castlemaine, passing through Chewton until you reach the soccer ground.

Turn left at Fryers Road.

Look out for the impressive Duke of Cornwall engine house (a genuine relic of the gold rushes) which is on your right as you approach Fryerstown.

Property

The house is easily accessible from a made road and there is ample undercover parking.

The open plan living, kitchen and dining areas are spacious. The TV lounge has a warm and cosy slow combustion heater (wood supplied) and TV. There are also an air conditioner and electric heater.

The kitchen is well equipped with a full-size fridge and electric oven and hotplates. There is cutlery and crockery, an electric mixer and a radio/CD Player.

The bathroom has a bath and separate shower. The house has two toilets.

The laundry has a front-loading automatic washing machine.
An iron & ironing board are supplied.

There is an outside clothesline.

This is a non-smoking house.
No pets please.
