"The property is suitably located and provided space for the two boats and cars, although 5 grown men was a stretch in the 6 person villa. The main bedroom is fine but the smaller one is really more suitable for children."
Guest rating: 4/5  - Ian - December 10

"Beautiful surrounds and the cabin was nice & new, but a bit small and it would have been nice to have a lounge or sofa to sit on to watch tv. Otherwise it was good."

Guest rating: 5/5  - Greg - July 10

"The property was just OK, We expected it to be a larger cabin with maybe some easy chairs. Also it would help to have the DVD player working or some instructions as to how it worked. It was a truly beautiful setting with much bird life and trees, but would be suited more to younger people."

"Cabin was spacious enough 4 the 4 of us
All basics available i.e tea/ coffee making, T.V., Good shower ect.
Accomadation offered good value for money for a short stay as quite isolated.
Very chilled out, quiet and relaxing.
Great stop over for Lady Musgrave trips.
Staff pleasant and helpful.

"TERRIBLE....
We had a late arrival as travelling after work (pre paid for accomodation without seeing it)Arrived to find cabin windows all open and inside freezing. Closed all windows to discover it really smelt bad.
No sheets or a towel for my 2yr old. Rang after hours bell to be told rudley that you do not recieve sheets and towels for under 4 as you don't pay for them?????????????Was not told this when i rang and what do they expect your kids to sleep on? Was rudely shouted down to over the verandah to say it would cost me $12 for sheets and a towel. I refused to pay this and he begrudginly gave them to me for free with another lecture from a woman when she came down to hand them over.
It continues, about 10pm we finally got set up ready for bed to find our bed had 3 springs poking out on my husbands side poking him all night.
WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN in these conditions especially with children!"

"Our 3-night stay at the Village was wonderful. Our cabin was excellent and the view from our verandah was beautifully peaceful and relaxing with the added bonus of 3 very tame kookaburras who joined us. The cabin facilities were great. We didn't want to leave and plan to return for a longer stay next time. "

"We had 2 relaxing nights in a cabin overlooking the pool and the bay of 1770 in the background. To sit and watch the kookaburra's come down and have an early morning dip in the pool was great. Amenities very clean and staff helpful and friendly. I recommend it to anyone!"
Guest rating: 4/5  - Vicki, QLD - April 08

"The Cabin was average, a little less than how it was advertised it was prettied up in the promos. We were expected to sweep floors etc. I wanted a break from the usual home chores it was a bit of a let down in that respect I wanted to relax not worry about cleaning and sweeping. The TV did not get good receiption it was snowy on all the channels when they did'nt drop all together, ther was no DVD like advertised. The four cabins at the front are not very private."
Guest rating: 3/5  - Lesley, QLD - March 08

"THE LOCATION OF THE HOLIDAY VILLAGE IS VERY GOOD THE PARK WAS LOVELY AND QUIET THE ACCOMMODATION WAS CONFORTABLE. THE KITCHEN WAS WELL EQUIPPED, THE SERVICE IN THE OFFICE WAS OF A HIGH STANDARD AND FRIENDLY AND WE ENJOYED A NICE NIGHT AT THE RESTUARANT ATTACHED TO IT. SO YOU CAN SEE WE DID HAVE A LOVELY TIME AND WE WILL GO BACK BUT IT WILL BE WITH OUR CARAVAN."

"Good accommodation, very friendly service. Quiet remote. Unfortunately the bar/restaurant was closed during our stay which was a bit of disappointment due to our late arrival. But the bar in Town of 1770 was still open and only minutes away by car. "

"Captain Cook Holiday Village is a hidden diamond. The little cabins were
just fantastic, really affordable offering all the comforts of home. The staff were very friendly and provided lots of information about places to eat and things to do.
I would reccomend Captain Cook Village to friends and family. "

"Apart from the clean & tidy accommodation , the one item I appreciated most was how helpful and obliging the staff were with my request for accommodating my boat & large tow vehicle right next to our cabin.I am looking forward to visiting Captain Cook Holiday Village again."
Guest rating: 5/5  - Raimund, QLD - July 07

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights in a well appointed, clean cabin; close to the toilet block. The grounds were beautifully maintained
and the 10 - 15 minute walk through bush and dunes to the surf beach was delightful. We were using public transport and appreciated the proprietor driving us to meet the LARC tour whe the local bus was off the road."
Guest rating: 5/5  - Jo and Weston, VIC. - July 07

"Our stay was wonderful. The private bungalow was perfect-it could've slept up to 5 people. The little kitchenette was great as well. Just watch out for the mosquitoes and the crazy kookaburras in the morning. "
Guest rating: 5/5  - Valerie , CALIFORNIA - January 07

"Holiday was lovely and relaxing."
Guest rating: 4/5  - Danielle, QLD - January 07

"We stayed in a deluxe cabin with 2 children. Accommodation was clean and nicely presented. The price was reasonable. The service was friendly and our overall experience was pleasant. We would stay here again."
Guest rating: 4/5  - Ray & Sharyn, QLD - January 07

"We stayed in one of the bungalows. It was very nice and clean. We were directly across the road from the restrooms / laundry building. It was very clean. Plenty of showers, sinks, washers, dryers. The managers were extremely courteous and helpful. We got in late but they were very accommodating, even though it was after business hours. We slept 5 in the bungalow: 2 adults and 3 young adults, ages 17 to 20. And the price was the lowest we paid anywhere in our 20 visits to Australia. We were very pleased and would highly recommend 'Captain Cook Holiday Village' to anyone considering to stay in that area."
Guest rating: 5/5  - Paul, WA - December 06

"I thought that the cabins were excellent and provided a lot of comfort and certainly had all the amenities that we needed."
Guest rating: 4/5  - Tony, QLD - October 06

"There was no mention of Midgies in any thing we read and are still suffering the after effects two weeks later. Beach access could be upgraded."
Guest rating: 3/5  - Stewart, QLD - September 06

"Beautiful views, great surroundings. Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend Captain Cook Holiday Village. Lovely and peaceful...."
Guest rating: 4/5  - Ryk, QLD - August 06

"We had a very happy stay and as we were two couples were a little concerned that, as we were sharing a cabin it may have been too cramped - it wasn't. The park itself was clean, neat and well kept. The staff, very helpful and the restaurant A1. Thankyou for a great 2 nights."
Guest rating: 5/5  - Jan, QLD - May 06

"No complaints. It was great."
Guest rating: 4/5  - Shane , QLD - January 06

"We were there during a very hot January, not the best time, but also had to put up with 1000's bats each night due to flowering gum trees. The green marsh flies were also bad. All this is not the fault of the Village. We had a powered Van site well shaded. Amenities were clean but very tired (even the newer one)Managers were friendly and helpful. Restaurant good but medium to high pricing. Good value for money if the "outside" conditions were better."
Guest rating: 3/5  - Mel, NSW - January 06

"The people where very friendly and helpful. The park is in serious need of a pool, especially at Christmas time when the beaches are closed due to stingers in the water. The cabins are pleasant and clean, but they should all be air conditioned. They should also be a bit more there for children of all ages to do."
Guest rating: 3/5  - maarten, NSW - January 06

"I found the park to be clean, but a little over priced for the conditions. Service was fine. More suited to camping rather than cabins."
Guest rating: 3/5  - Belinda, QLD - January 06

"We did enjoy our stay at 1770, although the Captain Cook holiday village we feel could be looked after a bit better and we think that a swimming pool needs to be developed with in the park area. The camping grounds need to be improved and the shop could do with a face lift. [TakeABreak.com.au Comment: We have been advised that the park is to undergo a $300,000 facelift including pool and other major upgrades in March 2006]"
Guest rating: 1/5  - Kirsty, QLD - January 06

"Yes my family had a great time at 1770 the cabin was clean and comfortable, the surrounding wildlife abundance is sure sign this accomodation outlet is doing the right thing , which is excellent. JUST one complaint the weather could have been better. Can fix this for next time ?"
