Things to DoTOURS
The Cape Schanck Lightstation (with fully functioning beacon) offers visitors a unique glimpse of the past. The historic light is one of the few still operating as it did during the early 1800's. The Lightstation is open every day of the year for tours up the lighthouse or in the museum.
EVENING BARBECUES
During the summer months groups can have an evening meal served in the old carriage stables. Then at dusk climb the lighthouse stairs and view the magnificent sunset and experience the light turning on.
ACTIVITIES
After you have arrived and settled into your room, you might like to take the Boardwalk for breathtaking ocean views. Explore the secret places at Cape Schanck, or simply unwind with a glass of wine while the sun disappears beyond the hills. The following morning why not pack a picnic lunch and head off to Bushrangers Bay. While you are enjoying the tranquillity of this special place you may see kangaroos in the hills behind you, or see a Great Southern Right Whale surface to say hello along with the seals and dolphins. A walk to Fingal Beach to take in some magical views, or if you have more energy, you can also walk the cliff tops to Gunamatta Surf Beach.
We do not just have walks. You can go rock climbing, try surf fishing, or perhaps go diving or snorkelling where you might discover the sunken submarine. Light House VisitorsVisit the lighthouse museum.
