The B&B is part of a small, biodynamic cattle farm, with 600 acres of bushland for you to explore. Walking tracks lead to seasonal creeks and a dam.
The property is home to many native animals, many of which can be spotted around the gardens close to the house. Many large kangaroos live on the property, some dingoes are also seen. Bird watching during the day and spotting for possums, gliders, bettongs, quolls, bandicoots, wallabies and owls after sunset are favorite pasttimes.
The house has wide private verandas for you to relax on.
If you don't feel like cooking your own bbq, then Mareeba is only 10 minutes away by car.Mareeba has several small restaurants and clubs for lunches and dinner.
Locality and Attractions
We are located in the sunny and dry North of the Cairns Highlands. The Mareeba area is known as the "Shire of Diversity'. In the East you can visit the Great Dividing Range with its rainforests, rivers and water falls. To the West the Outback beckons, with limestone caves, gold fields, mineral fields and dry inland forests.
Just 4 km further down our road is the well known Mareeba Wetlands Reserve. They offer bird watching, bushwalking and twilight tours around the reserve.
Just minutes away by car are a mango farm and winery that offers wine tasting, several coffee farms (coffee tastings, tours), a boutique winery (tropical fruit wines) and a distillery that specializes in tropical fruit liquors.
Natural attractions around Biboohra are Emerald Falls and Davies Creek National Parks and the privately owned nature reserve of Granite Gorge.
Just 45 minutes further down South (but up in altitude)you'll find volcanic crater lakes, rainforest walks and dairy country.
The limestone caves of Chillagoe are 11/2 hours drive east.
