Here, Burdett's Country Retreats provide elegant Hillgrove House, which accommodates up to four friends in two private, self-contained suites with exclusive occupancy guaranteed for two, and Waratah Cottage, a romantic getaway just for two.

Satisfied guests return again and again to these retreats, each of which stands alone on its own acreage. Breathtaking views can be seen from every window, and the myriad of native birds are a constant delight. Inside, every amenity is provided for an indulgent stay, from two-person spa bathrooms with separate showers, to the dishwashers, laundry facilities, reverse cycle air-conditioning, open wood fires, flat screen TVs, DVDs, CDs and quality magazines. Not to mention the coffee machines, complimentary mini bars with a choice spirits, beer, fine regional wines and gourmet goodies. Breakfast provisions are abundant produce from local providores for scrumptious country breakfasts. Bedrooms have quality linens, electric blankets and clouds of pillows.

This is indeed self-contained accommodation at its very best -thoughtfully executed luxury with truly remarkable attention to detail.

Pet-lovers will be pleased to learn that even canine companions have not been overlooked. House-trained and vaccinated small to medium dogs are welcome by arrangement and are able to stay inside. Dog beds, toys, feeding bowls and treats are on hand to make their stay special too.

Basket Range is the ideal location for exploration, indulgence, romance, rest and relaxation, and only a scenic 30 minute drive to Adelaide, 45 minutes to Adelaide International Airport. Great wineries and first class restaurants, fabulous regional food, golfing, walking trails and wildlife. Close to Mount Lofty, Cleland Wildlife Reserve, historic Hahndorf, Stirling, Birdwood. Ideally situated to explore the Barossa and Clare Valleys and the Fleurieu Peninsula. A 90 minute drive to the ferry terminal for Kangaroo Island.

Waratah Cottage, a cosy secluded four-roomed cottage with a lovely fenced garden, is situated on a 20 acre property and provides a blissfully intimate retreat. Fully self-contained and completely private, beautifully decorated and including every modern amenity for an indulgent stay. One queen size bed.

Hillgrove House, built in the 1870s, sits on just over 20 acres with stunning views over the hills and a lovely fenced garden with a secluded lawn area. This luxurious, elegantly restored country house provides accommodation for up to four people in two private, self-contained adjoining suites - and the espresso machine for great freshly brewed coffee is just one of the many indulgent touches. Great for friends travelling together or exclusive occupancy for just two people at no extra cost (excluding public holiday periods when the 4 person rate applies to Hillgrove regardless of number of guests).
