Locality
Broulee, NSW
Broulee (located on the coast to the west of Moruya and south of Batemans Bay) came into existence as the first harbour in the Moruya area because there was a dangerous sand bar at the mouth of the Moruya River, which caused difficulties for smaller ships and prevented access by larger ones.
There is a peninsula, called Broulee Island, which separates two beaches. Broulee is one of the most popular holiday centres on this part of the coast. Broulee Beach is very popular for its great surf and wide expanse of golden sand. To the north f the island the beach forms an isthmus to the Broulee Island nature reserve which features the "Pink Rocks". To the south of the island is a patrolled (in summer) beach, Bengello Beach, that extends to the mouth of the Moruya River.
Property
Fishing
1. Take the family to where Candlagan Creek flows out to Broulee Beach. There is a shallow area for the kids to paddle and you can fish at the entrance for bream or walk up the creek after flathead. To get there drive north (facing the street from the driveway turn right) along Clarke Street to Coronation Drive, turn left (still going north) and drive about a kilometre to the creek crossing. Candlagan Creek separates Broulee from Mossy Point.

2. Take the family or launch your boat at the Moruya River entrance. This is a rockwall where you can fish for flathead on the bay side and many varieties of fish on the river side. To get there turn left out of the driveway (facing the street) and drive south along Clarke Street to turn right into Grant Street. You are still going south. Drive inland a few hundred metres to George Bass Drive and turn left. Drive about three kilometres to the Moruya Airport on your left and turn left to the airport and drive along the river by turning right to the rockwall. If launching your boat do not attempt to go straight out from the lauching ramp. The water is shallow. To get to the river you must follow the port river channel to the rockwall and then turn around the sand bar to the main river channel.

3. Walk or drive to the rocks at the Broulee Surf Club. To get there turn right out of the driveway and a few metres turn right into Imlay Street. Go one block to Grant Street and cross Grant Street to turn left into Lyttle Street. Follow the edge of the Caravan Park to Heath Street and turn right and continue to the unnamed squiggle road to the right that takes you to the surf club. You can fish off the rocks or the beach.

4. Walk or drive to Broulee Beach. To get there turn right out of the driveway and follow Clarke Street to it’s end at Coronation Drive. Cross Coronation Drive and take any of the paths over the dunes to the beach.
