There are very few places in the world where you can enjoy fabulous scenery, gourmet food, spectacular fishing and ancient rock art - all while relaxing in a natural setting without a care in the world…. This is one of them.
Kimberley Coastal Camp is hidden away on the far north Kimberley coast and is so remote that the only access is by boat or helicopter.
A benchmark for wilderness development, Kimberley Coastal Camp is famous not only for its location and range of activities but also for its tiny size, unparalleled hospitality and environmentally friendly practices. It would be hard to find a lodge that intrudes less on its surroundings.
Fly in on a package from Broome, Kununurra or Mitchell Plateau and land in a helicopter on the pristine white beach at our doorstep.
Befitting its idyllic location, the atmosphere at Kimberley Coastal Camp is relaxed and unpretentious. There are no pre-set itineraries here.
You set the pace and can be as active or lazy as you like. You might spend your days fishing for barramundi and dozens of other tropical fish in the pristine waters the area is known for.
Another option is to explore on foot, by boat or helicopter, searching for the ancient and very beautiful "Bradshaw" rock paintings and experience the local flora and fauna first hand. Or you might prefer to take it easy on the boat, cruising and picnicking on a deserted island fringed by boab trees.
The social hub of the camp is a unique hand-built room set just above the beach. Its many functions include meeting place, library and music room, conference room for planning each day’s adventures and dining room where the days highlights are re-lived accompanied by great food and much laughter.
Accommodation is in one of only 5 double or twin rooms each with their own view, 24 hour power and big ceiling fans. Bathrooms are ingeniously built against a natural rock wall.

* Fishing Kimberley Coastal Camp offers a luxurious alternative to other fishing camps.
Kimberley Coastal Camp is situated in remote Admiralty Gulf in the north Kimberley where the fishing is truly magnificent.
Because of our isolation - with access only by boat or air - these really are untouched waters.
Options available to our guests include huge tidal rivers, mangrove creeks, estuaries, mud flats, offshore reefs and islands.
Some of the species to be caught include barramundi, mulloway, mangrove jack, fingermark, javelin fish, threadfin salmon (giant and blue), giant, golden and spotted trevally, queen fish, mackerel, tuna, coral trout, cod and bluebone.
Because of our unique location, there is also an abundance of mud crabs and oysters.
Kimberley Coastal Camp operates on a catch and release basis, with only those fish destined for the table being retained from the day's catch.
We supply fishing gear on a replace if lost basis but it is preferable for you to bring your own favourite rod and reel. We generally fish with light gear (6-10 kilo) and this is usually sufficient – except for those GTs found around bommeys and reefs where it’s every man for himself! We also have a selection of our favourite lures for sale.
Warabi, our purpose built and fully surveyed 7.5 m boat has much to offer anglers who are not interested in spending long hours in the sun fishing from a dinghy. The special design allows for manoeuvring in tight and shallow spots, lots of fishing and casting space - and shade as well. We also have two 5.0 m tenders set up for fishing the mangrove creeks.
