Our cottage is in a quiet, leafy street, with 6 foot fences to give you all the privacy you need. Nobody can see into your back garden and nobody will be noisy or nosey or bother you during your stay.

Art & Craft

Art and Craft experiences located nearby.

Broken Hill is the artists' mecca! From Pro Hart's gallery collection (to die for) and sculptres, to the Regional Art Gallery or artists' galleries in the main street, to the artists at Silverton or Jack Absolom in town and many, many well known artists abound. Very special are the aboriginal paintings and their special totems. If you are into art - stay a little longer as there's so ,so much to see.

Birdwatching

Bird-watching available nearby, Binoculars provided.

Actually, you'll wake up to birdsong at 'A Miner's Rest' which is lovely. We do not have many birds in the desert, however you can see eagles and hawkes in the national parks and the usual crows and sparrows in abundance.

Bushwalking & wilderness

Bushwalking and wilderness experiences located nearby, Bushwalking maps provided, Located near a National Park.

The famous Sculpture Park is your first stop off if you enjoy bushwalking. Only 15 minutes drive away, you can choose the wildflower trail or the nature trail where you will meet kangaroos with their joeys sitting by the side of the trail (see picture), and see aboriginal artifacts. At the beginning of the trails the ranger feeds the emus and roos and you can see them close up in their natural habitat. If you whistle the emus they will come to you - they are curious creatures.

A drive out of town in any direction (with water bottles, sunscreen and hats of course) will give you a free walk into the outback, but do not lose sight of your vehicle. Stephens Creek is just such a walk and you can BBQ in the creek too which is fun.

Close to Public Transport

Public transport within 5 minute walk, Public transport within 10 minute walk, Bus service, Train service.

In the cottage we have all information you will need about bus timetables, which is the main way of getting around Broken Hill if you don't want to use your car or taxies. Bear in mind taxies are cheap by city standards, as nothing is very far from anything else in broken Hill!

Executive rental

Executive standard, Daily service available on request, Linen included, Laundry facilities available on-site.

I guess this cottage is more the place for tired executivies to relax in after 'a hard day at the office.'

If you've never played golf in the desert, this is an experience for you! There are two golf courses - one green and the other desert. There is a good clubhouse which welcomes its guests.
