"We loved Brighton Studio. First of all, the house and courtyards were beautifully designed and, therefore, most pleasant and convenient to use. Inside the house, the funiture was comfortable and very good quality - with some special heritage pieces. Special features of the house, like a recycled prison door leading from the kitchen area to the living room and a small stained glass window from a demolished church, lent considerable charm to an already very interestingly decorated interior. Fascinatingly, the owner left a written history of the design, building and prior use of the building, along with some related personal history while they lived in the house. This information personalized our experience and made us feel like a welcome guest of the owner, rather than a mere tenant.
During our four week stay, we found that in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and elsewhere in the house, the owner had thoughtfully provided for her own and, by extension, her guest's every need with good quality appliances, kitchen equipment, towels, bedding, etc.
To the delight of our young granddaughter (and the relief of her parents and grandparents),the two lower cupboards in a main room buffet were full of good quality educational toys, puzzles, books, etc. that kept her well-occupied and amused while visiting us.
Our daughter and son-in-law (who arranged the accommodation for us) felt Brighton Studio was very good value and they also very much enjoyed the house when they visited us there. If our daughter and son-in-law had not moved to a much larger house during our stay this year, we would definitely plan on returning to stay at Brighton Studio during any future visits to Melbourne. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived until we left to return to our own house in Canada. The owner made sure everything was clean and in order for us and, later, expressed her appreciation to us for leaving it the way we found it.
