We have arrived back home from a most wonderful fortnight travelling around Tasmania. I really wanted to write to you and thank you for your wonderful hospitality - but more than that to let you know my family and I think you have the best accommodation in Tassie. We stayed in 10 different locations and none of them even came close to Platypus Country Retreat - all accommodation was ranked 4 - 4.5 stars. We think yours is 10 stars. The rooms were welcoming, clean, fresh and such a welcome rest after a day exploring and travelling (I especially loved the beautiful clean bathroom and spa). The kids loved being able to explore your paddocks and were delighted by your chooks, ducks and lovely cat. Thanks once again - and when (not if) we are back in Tassie we will definitely look you up again.

"Stop searching you've found the best. We drove into Bridport looked all around at the options and decided to try the one we first saw as we came into town. Wish we had done that half an hour ago! This is the best accommodation Bridport has to offer. So peaceful and quiet, excellent value for money, family friendly but would be great to come without the children, the people were friendly and welcoming. We were wondering how far up the gravel road we would have to go but were surprised that it was really only a couple of minutes back into the town centre."

Property

Our Eco tourism Australia certified accommodation property is also a 40 acre farm which runs cattle. You will find a chook or two and a few ducks to feed, a cat to pat and a little dog to chat.

The bird life abounds and wildlife is prolific.

Fresh organic vegetables available from the raised bed gardens. FREE trout fishing from our dams (in season). We are a member of the Land for Wildlife project.

Just 1 hour from Launceston, 2 hours to Devonport and 15 minutes to Scottsdale.
