Paddington Hills provides as unique experience in a train carriage one hours drive south of Canberra. Two red rattles from Sydney have been renovated to luxurious holiday accommodation. Reverse cycling air conditioning ensures that the temperature is comfortable in all weathers.The farm has horses,donkeys and alpacas to pat and there are long walks to be had. Climb the hills for a magnificent view or take a gentle walk to the other end of the property where there is a creek bubbling from a spring. This is quartz country so there could be gold in the creek.
The village of Bredbo is close by and contains good eating places as well as the Christmas Barn and the Unique Boutique. It will take a good weekend to cover all this activity.
It's just over an hour to the snow, a ggood alternative to staying in an expensive place on the snowfields.
Controlled pets will enjoy the country air. The carriages are fenced in dog proof fencing so they will not always need to be on the leash.
Lastly, there is good mobile phone reception here to keep you in touch with the outside world if you really want to in such a peaceful place.

Paddington Hills is one and a half kilometres of the Monaro Highway at Bredbo. Just far enough away to stop the traffic noise yet close enough to enjoy the other things Bredbo has to offer.
The Christmas shop in the village is famous and is open from June to January. It has to be seen to be believed. On the same property there is a coffee shop and the gift shop.
The Pancake Parlor is open from Thursday to Sunday for delicious lunches and the Gourmet Deli has great food as well as fresh rabbit and trout.
The historic Inn serves counter meals most days.
Cooma is 20 minutes drive away with interesting features of it's own.

It doesn't matter what season it is Paddington Hills provides luxurious comfort inside and plenty to do outside. There is an external fireplace next to the gas bar be que and a large outside dining setting. The gardens are developing with strawberries,herbs and some vegetables available for guests picking. The walks on the property vary from easy to difficult providing something for everyone and the scenery is beautiful.

The "Couples" carriage has a bedroom with a queen bed and an ensuite with a spa bath. In the living area there is a divan which folds down to make a double bed and in another room there is a single bed. This carriage also has a full kitchen.
The "Family" carriage had a bedroom with two sets of double bunks with a small playroom next to it. In the main part there is a queen bed and a divan which folds down to make a double bed. There is a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Cooking facilities can be arranged.
A portacot is available for infants.
All linen is provided with doonas and extra blankets if needed. All beds have electric blankets too.
