Our well appointed 3 bedroomed cottage sits on the side of a hill over looking a long peacefull valley.

You will find a huge amount of extras (like locally hand made soaps) along with all the usual toiletries, tea and coffe facilites etc.

The fridge and pantry are overstocked with breakfast goods, supper/snacks. Freshly made afternoon tea awaits your arrival.

All linens, towels and bathrobes are supplied.
Other facilities include hair dryer, iron and iron board, auto washing machine, BBQ and lovely setting to eat outdoors.
Then there are the chocolates, Port and cheese board for the evening.

If you feel lazy there are videos to watch, jigsaw puzzles, books and several different packs of cards.

On the walls we have hung crochet work and needle craft done by family members, starting at about 1904 thru to 1940's. Some of it you even get to use!

We achieved South Aust Tourist Comm. accrediation at about the same time we opened our doors early in March 2005.

P.S Most mornings and evenings you will see grey kangaroos grazing 300m from the house enjoying the grazing on our farm.

Come and enjoy them while you are having your coffee/breakfast on the sun filled front verandah.

Melrose also has an annual wine tasting day of the local wines on the Southern Flinders area.
To stay over this period holiday makers have to book very early as the area is very popular, and booked out by mid June!

Locality/Property

We are only 7km away from the biggest collection of steam and other old tractors and engines in South Australia.
Every year a 'Steam and Traction' open day/show is held on the last Sunday in March. Most of the engines and tractors are in working condition and are operating during the day.

We are only 12 km from Mount Remarkable and its lovely walks and 20 mins from the wonderful and historic Wirrabara forest.
We are 5km from nearest Wine cellar.

This great little 3 bedroomed cottage was built as our Grandmas home, that she enjoyed until a few years ago. It is fitted out with hand rails etc in the bathroom so some disability is allowed for.
The walls if the cottage are decorated with anitque family embroidery /needlework plus some new cottage craft from a local artisan.
